Where did you install Firefox from? Help Mozilla uncover 3rd party websites that offer problematic Firefox installation by taking part in our campaign. There will be swag, and you'll be featured in our blog if you manage to report at least 10 valid reports!

I have 2 desktops and 1 laptop. I bought the laptop with windows 10, use firefox and chrome and my 2 yahoo mail accounts no problem on the laptop, until a recent windows 10 update. Now I have no contacts and I can't manually insert contacts, it won't save them.I have 2 desktops both windows 7. I upgraded one in January. I don't normally use that computer so I was unaware of any yahoo mail issues. Desktop 2 is using version 18363.1016 while both the laptop and desktop 1 are on 19041.450.I finally gave in and upgraded my daily use computer to windows 10 yesterday 9/3/20. I now have no Yahoo contacts and it won't let memanually input them, it won't save them. So, Yahoo mail is affected on all 3 computers. I checked desktop 2 and there were no contacts there either.I called Microsoft support today, they did all kinds of things...I don't want to use the mail app, I want to use Yahoo mail. Oddly when I switched over to desktop 2 suddenly the contacts were there and everything worked fine . Nothing had been done to that computer...it is configuredexactly like the computer I use daily. The laptop and the desktop still do not have Yahoo contacts are are able to save contacts. No clue how I got them on desktop 2, no clue how to get them on laptop and desktop 1.HELP.Thanks

If you use extensions ("3-bar" menu button or Tools -> Add-ons -> Extensions) that can block content (Adblock Plus, NoScript, Disconnect, Ghostery, Privacy Badger, uBlock Origin) always make sure such extensions do not block content.

Firefox shows a purple shield instead of a gray shield at the left end of the location/address bar in case Enhanced Tracking Protection is blocking content. You can click shield icon for more detail and possibly disable the protection. You can check the Web Console for messages about blocked content.

Steps to Reproduce (add as many as necessary): 1. 2. 3. I have killed the browser and restarted. Have rebooted the computer. It comes back the same every time. The yahoo mail works fine on chrome, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer with no visible change from the way it has been but on Brave the display and functions are as described.

@Illiterate1,
I believe that @gsarvadnya was asking to see what your Shields settings were configured to for mail.yahoo.com specifically. Please login/visit yahoo! mail and open your Shields panel as you did in the image above.

I have 29 emails in my inbox when I scroll up/down I could access all the emails with default shield settings. In the previous post, you have mentioned you are able to view only 15 emails listed in a page. Can you try disabling shield settings? Also, are there any extentions installed in your profile?

Since installing iPadOS 15.3, when I have opened my Mail app, I notice some small windows at the bottom of the display, with miniatures of emails I have received. Apparently a preview of some mails that can be accessed quickly, and haven't seen yet. And one has a "+" so more windows can be added. The windows all go away when I poke the screen.

This is not a helpful solution. I want to have my dock open, but I don't want the useless windows running across the bottom of my Mail app. I know I can make them disappear by clicking elsewhere on the screen, but why do they appear to begin with?

I agree with your comment. I am the original poster of this thread, and so far I haven't received an answer about the intended use of these windows or what they are even for. I just find them a continuing small annoyance. How do we make them stop showing up? Or someone tell me why I should like what they are intended to do

Open the mail app and beginning on the left side start flicking them vertical to erase them. You will encounter two that you cannot delete. At that point, close the mail app then reopen it. All the windows will have been erased not to return again.

Also, it appears that Apple has provided a fix for the problem with their latest iPadOS update. I happened to open Mail after the update, before I saw your solution, and see that the little windows don't appear at all unless you press the small icon at bottom left center that looks something like two pieces of paper. Then the little windows show up. I still don't know what is intended to be done with them, and once there you are stuck with them until you close and reopen Mail, but it least they won't appear now unless you want them to.

For example, if you have three running instances of Safari, each with its own set of open tabs, you will see three thumbnails corresponding to each running instance of Safari - plus a button to open a new instance of Safari. Simply tapping a thumbnail will switch directly to that running instance of Safari. Each App - such as Mail, Safari, Notes, Calendar, etc. - has its own corresponding shelf.

Individual open instances of an App can be closed directly from the Shelf; just swipe the unwanted thumbnail off the top of the screen. Note however, that Multitasking and associated Shelf functions cannot be disabled.

I have tapped the little button on the lower left hand side of the mail and indeed those annoying little boxes disappear. However, no messages show up and the app constantly crashes. If I leave those boxes alone after 30 long seconds mail appears. What in the world is the purpose of this. By the way this only happens on my iPad, not on my iPhone or iMac. Puzzled!!!

i am trying to send email from my software using the smtp of yahoo but it shows the following error"The SMTP server requires a secure connection or the client was not authenticated. The server response was: 5.7.1 Authentication required".

There are two problems here, firstly the OAuth2 issue, and secondly the fact that a lot of e-mail providers are dropping support for TLS v1, and mandating at least TLS v1.2.
I still use Eudora for my e-mail, and have since about 1995! It's the best e-mail client ever made IMO.
In recent months I've had to jump through a few hoops to keep it working with my Sky e-mail account, which is managed by Yahoo.
I had to get an "application specific password" some time ago, and more recently I had to use an update provided by the Hermes project to add TLS v1.2 support.
Without both of those, it would have become useless after 25 years!
It's now working fine, but other legacy e-mail clients must all be facing the same issues.

That's good to see, but don't depend on it staying like that!
There's evidence that Yahoo and others are gradually updating the requirements on their servers, and all the servers will I'm sure start rejecting TLS v1 logins eventually.
I'm using yahoo.co.uk servers which already reject TLS v1 logins.

If I remember correctly, after Thunderbird 60 another patch was needed for AOL accounts.
This (fleeting) memory of mine should first be verified.
Then if it's okay to find the patch code and then check if you can add it to MailNews.

Unable to connect Outlook using POP or IMAP instructions for Yahoo Mail. It appears Yahoo is not set up for Outlook to connect our Cox.net email accounts to their POP or IMAP servers (pop.mail.yahoo.com or imap.mail.yahoo.com). Suspect the servers are rejecting anything that isn't a yahoo.com extension. One would of thought Yahoo would have planned for this ahead of time for the Cox.net extensions. When I was able to talk with a person, their suggestion was to wait 24 hrs. and try again. i.e. trying too soon after the switch

The switch to Yahoo mail is anything but good. Since switching, about half the time Yahoo is not available and/or takes repeated logins. Yahoo's AI chat bot (AKA Help) is not set up to be much assistance to those with a Cox.net extension. Yahoo wants you to pay for premium service to resolve all but the very basic issues. Always referring you to a tutorial on Yahoo's help page.... which most have already looked at before starting a chat.

I had no problems before installing Trend Micro accessing my yahoo mail account, but now when I try to access it, i get ERR_CONNECT_RESET or this site cannot be reached. How do I fix the problem so that I can access my yahoo mail account?

I cut it off and had no problem accessing Yahoo, I even uninstalled and reinstalled trend micro just to see if something else happened. Nothing changed. I did notice that I can access it a little better in Firefox than Chrome, but Chrome is what I usually use as my browser. I still have the issue in Firefox also, just occasionally I hit the jackpot and get access to the yahoo mail account.

They started off by getting me to change my password for email. OK. Still no luck with getting it to work on my Outlook on PC (Win10 with Outlook365) or my Samsung phone (Blackberry Hub+ app - ye sI know but it works great to interate al my emails and phones, etc). I did get it to work on my Macbook using Outlook365 though....

There are several recent threads on this forum regarding the issue of the App Passwords generator not working. See the links below. Not sure if your issue is the same, but it's been going on for some people for about a month.
