Hey InMoov Group!

We've been building our second InMoov here @ Unique Software Development and have been experimenting with alternative servos.  Most recently we've been testing the JX PDI-6221MG as an alternative to the HK15298B in the hand mechanism.  Our first results have shown that the servos provide better torque and less vibration than the HK15298B or the MG996R.

We'll be getting some PDI-HV2060MG to test as alternatives to the HS-805BB and will post results next week.  Super excited to see the difference between 60kg of torque and 24 kg of torque!

We bought all the servos from Bangood - they seem to be a better value and give better function, but please feel free to correct us if you have different experiences!

(We'll be experimenting with the potentiometer on the PDI-HV2060MG and will be posting the results shortly.

Let us know if anyone is curious about anything!

Hello,
Both these servo reference have been in the Hardware and Bom list for a while, but we didn't get much feedback about them.
There is someone on the French forum that has been experimenting them with apparent succes, but I'm waiting to see on a longer term.
Some servos might look good at first but can be wearing fast regarding the motor or some gears.

It will be very interesting to get your results on this!

Thanks Gael! Kinda awesome to have you comment on one of our posts... we sooo admire what you have done here, truly remarkable.

We'll keep you updated - I've got two Masters level interns (and 6 3D printers) assigned to InMoov so I hope we can find a way to contribute to the project.

Feel free to reach out to me @ ma...@uniquesoftwaredev.com if you have any requests for experimentation and we'll put them into priority.

Also, we've got HS805BB's and HK15298B's in our first InMoov. We'll keep you updated on the longevity compared to the stock servos.

A good contribution might be to characterize using 1kohm resistors on the HK servos to expand them to 180 deg. Sounds like a good experiment given the setup you have that would help the community.
