Hello all
I am trying to configure my bot via ProgramAB.

I notice there is an aiml and an aimlif directory that holds the configuration files. Which ones can I edit since the contain the same information? The files in the aimlif directory are easily viewed and edited with excel. If I update those do they update the similar txt files in the aiml directory?

Thanks

aimlif is a working directory for program ab. Only modify .aiml files in the aiml folder.
some users always clear out the aimlif folder after changes. theoretically this is not necessary but it might be the issue if your changes do not work. ProgramAB uses the aimlif file if it exists. when changing an aiml file based on the timestamps of the files the aimlif should get delete automagically.

As Juerg says, it is almost always necessary to delete the aimlif files if you operate changes on the aiml files, otherwise your modifications might not be taken in account by ProgramAB.
In my zip (here) I have a mrl.bat file that can automaticaly delete the learn.aimlif

unfurtunatelly if im not wrong the aimlif is also where the bot will keep the learning!
so i created a python script (will be loadedwith the rest of gestures) and learn.aiml, these 2 togheter will update a knowledge.aiml and knew content will be created permently on the bot! If someone is interested i can give myself the trouble to fiannaly learn git and put these files there!!

Thanks Gael and all,
I had already looked at your batch file and noticed that. Is that not where learned information is kept? Don't want a dumb bot :)

Indeed it is where the learned information is stocked depending on what is learned. But if you modify some things in the aiml files, you need to delete the learn.aimlif.
Well this is what seems to be working, now Kevin or Greg could give other and surely better information about this.

Hi Pedro,
I saw your post. I would be interested in seeing your work. I saw you were going to try to get it into GIT to share in the MRL shoutbox. I have a lot to learn about aiml

Hi Pedro,

I start to learn aiml and any actions that my bot could do. I'm interested in your work. Did you share programs to send emails, mark events on google calendar, send text messages from phone, navigate on web and add categories in the aimlsomewhere ?

Thank in advance
Eric
