Hi all,
I'm having a strange problem with the Hobby King HK 15298B recently bought from internet. It will be used for the Jaw mecahinsm.
As you can see from the short video https://photos.app.goo.gl/PBgPIEtddK62ge4e2 the servo is buzzing a lot even if it is idle.
The servo is connected to and arduino uno r3 for just for this video (I'm using mega for the head).
It is connected as simple as possible:
  • On arduino is running the standard MRL program
  • Arduino is powered by its power supply
  • The servo is powered by 4xAA Energizer Ultimate Lithium battery (new)
  • The servo is connected to the pin 7 of the arduino
  • The arduino has the ground in common with the breadboard -
  • The servo service is started using MRL
When I plug the battery cable in the breadboard, the servo starts to buzz.
I can play with values (0 to 90 degrees using MRL).
The strange thing is that it stops buzzing when i remove the service (yellow) cable.

I'm new with electronics: maybe I'm missing something? Or simply the servo could be somewhat damaged?

Thank you in advance,
Piero

For one thing you are using inadequate power for running servos... You should be using a 6V SLA battery or a high output (amps) power supply... Servos need a lot of juice to run ... AA batteries of any type are not recommended...

Hello,
Robotguy6 is correct regarding power supply.
Are the gears turning by hand in the servo once you have separate the motor from the gear part as shown in video 2 ?
Maybe you have a gear stuck or damage... I never had that issue but who knows...

Ah ok.
I have bought many of the HK15298B and I never had a faulty one.
It's good if Hobbyking is replacing it.

Turns out that the servo was faulty, the seller confirmed and I got a refund.
