Hi
I built my InMoov on a VertexK8400. It takes a few days to put together the kit. The build guide is very good. I looked at this video before building it and it contains a lot of good information:
After building it I made a few minor modifications:
So some new parts for the printer may be the first things you want to print :-)
I built my K8400 in May 2015 and it printed very well the first 6 months. After that I have had a mechanical problem ( i think ) that I haven't been able to solve.
I think I may have overtightend the pulleys so that they are oval or missaligned. So I will upgrade to GT2 pulleys and belts instead of the original T2.5
It's possible that the newer kits already has that upgrade, since the first pulleys were of low quality. Some posts says that the K8400 has GT2 belts. Mine has T2.5.
I only print with PLA. The specification says that you also can print ABS. Never tried. The buildplate with Buildtak works very well for PLA. The Buildtak needs replacement after a few months of printing.
I had to replace the nozzle a few times in the begining because the filament got stuck. I added a filter and that solved the problem.
