Hi All, I'm new to 3d Printing and Inmoov.

I'm starting on the right hand and notice in the instructions that certain parts need to be printed  with "3 shells" while others need "1 shell".

Can someone please explain what this means.

Many thanks

Basically it's talking about how thick the perimeter is on the part. Depending on the slicer
you're using. In KISSlicer the setting is a combination of the "Skin Thickness" setting and
the "Number of Loops" setting. In Slic3r it's set by the "Perimeters" setting in
Printer Settings->Layers and perimeters->Vertical shells->Perimeters.

I want to ad another question about the print instruction. I beg your pardon but I'm new in this 3d World....
on most part there is somthing like <  infill of 30%, 1 shell, best with no support, no raft.>.... so...
OK I'm using Slic3r, you have well explained what is SHELL, I know what is SUPPORT... but I don't know how to setup (in Slic3r) RAFT and INFILL...

Can you explain me where are this parameter???

Thanks

Hi,
I don't use Slic3r but the raft is the base layer looking like a fish net on the printing surface, it is meant to make your part stick better to the heated bed. If you can avoid printing the raft,  it will save you trimming work.
Infill, is the density inside the printed part you define: is it printed hollow, or 50%, or totally full. I print with a 30% density.
I guess Slic3r users will help you better.

Hello,
I am using Repetier-Host which uses Slic3r, or Skeinforge to prepare the G-code. I'm not sure if this is the same set up you are using.
I am also very new to 3D printing, so new I have not printed yet, only excessive planning.

You should be able to change the infill options two ways, first through "Configure" where you were able to change the shell and raft settings. And then you should be able to to change them on the fly (not to your saved settings), under the Slic3r tab where you can change your settings profile. I have a slider for % of Infill Density and Infill Angle, and a drop-down menu for Infill Pattern, the default is honeycomb, curious what pattern others have used.

Hope this helps, good luck!
