Hello guys

First, this is my first message here in this group and I would like to thank Gael for this magnificent project. Your designs are awesome and You inspired so many people with this project.

So far I've only printed the head and I've already fell in love...

My question is regarding the new neck files since I've just finish printing the "old neck" version.

From what I understand, this version is not the articulating neck version.

How does it differ from the old version?

And one more question, is the big servo for rotating the head (left-right) is realy necessary?

I’ve seen regular servo adapters to use with regular servos (like this: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:961991)

What do you think?

Can you guys please refer me to a (YouTube) link that demonstrate the neck assembly?

And again, many many thanks for this great opportunity to print a humanoid.

Hello,
I uploaded the new neck only a few days ago and didn't have the time to update the tutorial.
This new neck is based on the principle with three axes of Bob Huston's remix of my original neck.
You can see these links:

Regarding the rotation of the head (RotHead), I guess a smaller servo would do the job, but I never tried. The head is a bit heavy altogether, so I certainly would avoid replacing the Neck servo by a smaller one.

For the other builders that might read this post, I uploaded also all new parts for the skull and face. Only EyeGlass still needs to be updated.
Better polygone resolution, and even better assembly screw system to avoid gaps between parts

Many thanks, Gael

With your permission, one more question:

The other parts (such as the torso, arms etc) will be updated soon?

I want to start printing the torso and if there is an updated version somewhere in the near future, I will wait.

Thanks again

Roi

No for now I still want to update the bicep, but it's been in the drawer for more than a year,
and I don't think I will have enough time in the near future to work on it.

Dear Gael,

For the new neck, thank you for your creation,

1. The question I have is do I need to print all the parts from (http://inmoov.fr/inmoov-stl-parts-viewer/?bodyparts=Neck)  and also from
(https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2605676)  to have the full new 3 axes neck build?

2. and then following the build instructions at this link: https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:845793      ?

Thank you as always,

Kind Regards,
Roger

This neck design is really great Gael. I can see your design skills/techniques changing a bit. Seems like more complex lofted shapes. Maybe that is an artifact of printers having more capabilities. I don't know, maybe you are just getting better.

I do not know much about design and programming
but a vertebra design with microserves to move up and down and a larger serbo for lateral movement would be feasible

Hello everyone
First of all I would like to thank Gael for this wonderful project.
I'm printing day and night and I'm almost a little addicted.
Now I have my first problem with the assembly, I have printed out the neck with the component NeckPlateHighV2.stl and read here in the forum one should take https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2605676?
Now I'm a little irritated.
Is there a building instruction somewhere for:
With the component NeckPlateHighV2.stl?
Thank you and greetings from Switzerland.
(@Gael you are also in Zürich this year at the Makerfaire?)

Hi,
@Bastegarage,
Thanks for your comment.
I didn't have the time to make instructions for the build process.
The Zurich Makerfaire organizers didn't contact us for this edition yet.

Dear Gael,

I'm trying to assemble your new InMoov neck which I'm not really
sure about, thank you for your updates as well on new parts, much appreciated!

1. In the attached Neckplate picture, please correct if I'm wrong on Do I screw the NeckPlateV2 on top of the NeckPlateHighV2? as pointed
in my attached picture?

Thank you as always and your creation!

Kind Regards,
Roger

Hi,
Yes, just make sure to set them properly. On your picture you have NeckPlate mis-arranged.

Dear Gael,

Thank you for your continuous updates on the STLs, it is wonderful! the STLs are awesome,

I have a question on the new neck, I attached a photo with the main gear and the servo gear, I had put them together and
then later realising I didn't put enough grease on the gears......,

I didn't want to pull them all out again as I worked on it the whole weekend till 3am last night...,
Do you have any advise/tips where I can grease the gears without pulling them apart..., ?

Thank you as always and your inventions,

Kind Regards,
Roger

Unfortunately, I'm stuck at this point.
I don't know where and how to mount the two side servos.
Does anyone have a picture that could help me?

Many thanks in advance

I have it, but where do I screw it on the back of my back or on the front?
I can't find any video or picture of this new version where this would be visible.
