How is everyone powering your XBOX 360 Kinetic?

Managed to get a cheap used Kinetic 360 for InMoov a few months ago, but have yet to do anything with it yet. Last night was watching some YouTube however and realized that the Kinetic had a special connector that would require a special adaptor for connecting to a USB port plus providing 12V for the device. A quick Amazon search today showed a wide range of prices for the adaptors from $9.99 up to $60 some dollars...all of which required AC power. So is everyone relying on an extension cord to tether their InMoov's, is their a DC option for portable power, or are you hacking the adapter?

Thanks.

Hello,
The information is in the Hardware map & BOM page, I have added a way to connect it with batteries.

Kinect 360 battery powered with  10 AA rechargeable batteries of 1,2v 2500mAh.

Then you only need to configure the InMoov/config/service_E_OpenNI.config in MyrobotLab Manticore.
FALSE to TRUE.

Thanks for the help Gael, I found the How To - Kinect link on your website, but didn't think to check Hardware / BOM page.

Unfortunately, other than the photo on the page, there weren't any links to the cable in the photo. Further searching for the pictured cable though lead me to the following web page.

This guy did an awesome job finishing his cable, I honestly thought the picture was a commercial product.

During the course of my searches, for anyone interested, I found a few different ways of splicing up the adapter in order to get the 12V to the 360 Kinect, though the site Gael found is definitely the nicest. I also found a tear down of the Kinect where it appears it only needs a 5V input supply. But apparently it wasn't until the implementation of the USB3 standard that USB could supply the necessary voltage, so Microsoft went with a 12V input.

Thanks again for the help Gael.
