Hi, in your instructions, we try Futaba S3003 Servo with arduino code, I set ON/OFF to control 0°~180°. And it have no problem. But when we try HS-805BB with the same arduino code, I found the servo can't stop and continued rotation in the same direction. How I can solve this problem ? the problem maybe is arduino code or ...? What method do you use to let the HS-805BB run correctly? hoe much voltage and current you use

Thank you ,I like your design very much.

Maybe your servo is broken?  If the potentiometer is not wired correctly, or if the potentiometer is broken. this could happen.
Also, make sure you have enough power for the HS-805BB .... your USB port on a laptop will not provide enough Amps to drive the servo.

Have you removed the pot from the HS-805? Is this for the one of the shoulder servos for the right arm/shoulder? If so, try reversing the 2 outer wires on the pot....

What's your meaning about?? I have to reverse 2wires on the pot?

Hi~~I have the same question about the servo.
I am curious about what the pot means?

pot = potentiometer

what kind of potentiometer I would use??
Or just only one kind?

It is inside the HS-805bb servo. You need to take apart the servo and remove the potentiometer.... here is a video on how to do it... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4ia6zoRKujI

ok thanks
but I want to know why I need to change the potentiometer?
I guess change the rotation of angel ?

And I have welded, but the weld don't melt.
what can I do will improve this problem ??

You don't need to change the potentiometer.... use the one that you extract from the 805bb servo.... Remember the right shoulder (3 HS-805bbs in total) have the outside wires on the potentiometer reversed....

Sorry, I still can't understand.
In the video, if we should need an external potentiometer replace the original ?

Or your meaning is just move the potentiometer to outside ??

Hi,
yes you remove the potentiometer from inside the servo and use it outside.

One quick comment on the picture.  I have noticed that those connectors often introduce a lot of signal noise to the servo.  It can cause jitter and odd movements if the connections are not perfect.
I haven't found a good solution for this personally, so I make sure there is a single wire, no splice to connect the potentiometer.

The InMoov parts are designed to work with the round potentiometer from the servo.  The potentiometer is just a voltage divider that allows the servo control board to computer what angle it has currently rotated to.  By default, I believe the potentiometer in the HS-805BB is a 5 kOhm linear taper pot.  Any potentiometer of the same size and resistance as that should work.

okay thanks.
I have another problem which is how can I control the servo whirl angle 30° 60° 90° ... or another angle ?
Can I control with Arduino ??

Hello,
I had made a script available in the finger starter tutorial along with explainations about servo angles, they are on the site to set your servo at certain angles using the Arduino.
http://www.inmoov.fr/finger-starter/
http://www.inmoov.fr/wp-content/uploads/2013/07/FingerStarter1.txt
Note: The above script is for a index finger but you can adapt the pin connection for any servo.

For further operation on the servo you will need to use MyRobotLab (or other software of your choice) to control the Arduino.
