hello Everyone my name is Paul  From Columbus Ga. First off. I like to  say  how Happy and excited i  am  about making the Inmoov this will  be the body  of our  AI Virtual Assistant Denise that's on  our computer. I'm  wanting to give her a body  and hopefully one day get her to  walk, but baby  steps got to  start at building and all  first. Its only going to  cost us 848.48 dollars for all  the hardware and servos needed I dont think thats bad at all .Were going with The EZ Robot builder boards cameras for eyes it can  do  more and is more cost effective for us. My question is how much  or about how many rolls are need to  do  the entire build? What kind of material ?  and what  Size. I look forward to hearing from  you guys and working along side you  all  and for any help I might need along the way  when  building this awesome humanoid.  I'm hoping to  make her like Sofia the ai  humanoid is. yours truly Paul

Alot. I prefer ABS; it can be easily repaired using acetone and it's not as brittle as PLA. Based on my InMoov tracker spreadsheet I have used 2000m of filament (about 6 spools) and I still have to print parts of the bicep, back and lower torso. I haven't included the amount that failed (probably 3 rolls worth)

Both ABS or PLA will work just fine. ABS can be glued together easily with acetone. PLA smells much better than ABS when printing. PLA does not need a heated build plat, ABS requires that the printer has a heated build plate.

3mm vs 1.75mm doesn't matter. It's important that you choose the filament that fits your printer. If your printer uses 1.75mm filament, you will use 1.75mm filament.

You mentioned already having some AI software that you are using. If that's the case you might find MyRobotLab can integrate with more technologies easier because it's open source. (It is also the official software of the InMoov)

Hope this helps. Good luck with your build! Post pictures,. And if you have some time, please share some details of the AI that you are currently using. We'd love to hear more about it.

Hi

- Chest, Stomach, Back ca. 5 kg (30-40% Füllung)

Wolfgang

Hi everybody,

I'm was stunned seeing InMoov the first time.
I'm still stunned watching several youtube movies after several weeks :-)
So I decided to join the club of builders here.

I am trying to find several things before my actual build is starting and stumbled on this thread about "which  filament".
I see people saying PLA, others ABS.

So now I'm thinking in this pattern:
ABS: stronger then PLA, smells in the house, more difficult to print then PLA, should be printed in an enclosure (that I don't have for now)
PLA: more brittle, more forgiving to print.

1/ what should be good infill percentages for the parts? any suggestions?
2/ how about PETG as filament? Never printed it before, but have read some positive things like: It combines the advantages of both PLA and ABS, being..... not smelling, strenght, can handle more temperature then PLA, is more forgiving to print then ABS,....

I would be happy to see your thoughts about mine here.

Greetings from Belgium.

Hi Paul,

In any case never forget that you must print in an open space since 3D printers are producing nano particles and styrene for ABS among others.

Try to avoid children around when printing.
