Hello everyone,

I know this is a classic question, but I can't seem to find a thorough answer here on the forum. I am going to have my first 3D printing project, my goal is to finish 1 FOREARM and 1 RIGHT HAND completes with servos and everything. However, because this is my first ever project, I have no clue about an estimated completion time or cost. If you have experience about this please take a moment of your time to kindly share it with me, and to any whom that might show interest in this great Inmoov project. Thank you.

You can reply me with this email or on this forum :D

Nobody builds an inMoov because it's cheap to do... They build it for passion... Just build your arm and forget about what it costs or how much time is involved...The question is difficult to answer anyway... If I had to worry about costs I never would have built my inmoovs in the first place....

1. The cost of the printer. Depends on what printer you buy. 400 - 2500 EUR.

2. Filament. One roll of filament ( 1kg) is enough to print the hand and the forearm.  Costs about 30 EUR.
3. Servos. Depends on where you source them from and what quality you want. You need 6 servos. 10-20 EUR each.
4. Aduino. For just the hand an Arduino Uno is good enough. 15 EUR.
5. Small other things like cables, batteries, battery charger and so on. This quickly adds upp. 50EUR ?

6. Tools. Depends on what you already have. Drill and drill bits. Taps, Screwdrivers.

My guess is that somewhere between 100-200 EUR for parts ( 2-5 )  that goes into the hand. Depends very much on the servo cost.

Thanks a lot Mats! Lucky I already had a 3D printer and filament cost is not a big deal to me. I am working and studying at the same time but I also want to build Inmoov, that's why I have this question. Cheers!

You're welcome Long ;-))

If you like to see updates of this spreadsheet you'll find them sometimes there :

And you could find also "Map Connection V1" at http://inmoov.fr/default-hardware-map/
