Hello,

I am using INMAP (version 1.9.6) to assess the impact of changes in point source emissions in Louisiana on air quality and public health. For this, I ran two sets of INMAP simulations with static grids: the base run with NEI2020 emissions and the sensitivity run with NEI2020 emissions but with modified point source emissions.

While comparing the outputs to estimate the health impacts, I found a strangely large difference in TotalPopD in a single grid (far from the source) where the TotalPM25 change is ZERO: it means TotalPM25 is the same between two runs. Please see the attached for the output maps. Note that the changes in TotalPM25 and TotalPopD are computed from the same set of INMAP outputs.

Excluding the grid with the strange minimum value, the rest of the outputs make sense. The emissions changes are only over Louisiana, where the total PM2.5 changes are pronounced. The TotalPopD changes closely follow the changes in TotalPM25, which is expected. However, I don’t understand why there is a large difference in TotalPopD. Is anyone else experiencing a similar issue?

Best,

Yunha
