A BIG Day of Trail Clearing on Fern Mt

A dozen people, including nine volunteers and three Inlet Parks Dept
employees, spent Wednesday on Fern Mt and accomplished some
long-overdue trail maintenance. Trail clearing started at intersection
24, went on to intersections 25 and 26 and then cleared both trails
through Fern Springs to intersection 39.
From intersection 39 the Ridge Top Run was cleared out to
intersections 35 & 35a. From there the SW Perimeter Trail was cleared
back to intersection 33.
About four miles of trails were cleared, which might not seem like
much to some but the sheer volume of brush and downed trees was
staggering and Fern Springs hadn't been properly cleared in years. So,
this may be the greatest "volume" of trail clearing Fern Mt has ever
seen in one day!
Everyone worked hard and did an amazing job and Inlet owes every
trail worker out there today a heartfelt THANK YOU!

Fern Mt Trails that still need clearing:
- NW Perimeter from 28 to 35.
- NW Interior from 40 to 44.
- Ridge Top Run yellow trail Boulder Field Loop from 36 to 37 (only a
1/4 mile.)
(The blue part of Ridge Top Run from 36 to 37 is clear.)
- Intersection 33, a.k.a Limekiln Junction, connector to FX Matt's
Trail.
- Intersection 34, a.k.a. the West End, connector to FX Matt's Trail.
