Anyone interested in the MSF Advanced RiderCourse Class?

There are classes this weekend (Sat & Sun) at the Discovery Rider
Training Center in Long Beach. The class is 8:30AM to 5:30PM. I was
leaning toward the Saturday class, and thought it would be nice to
ride down with someone. Let me know if you are interested, even if
it's not this weekend.

Hi Bo,

At the risk of replying waaaaaaay after the fact, my wife and I are interested in taking the ARC, as well. If you haven't taken it already, let me know. We'd be happy to sign up along with you.

Hi Chris
I have not yet taken the ARC. I will probably wait until sometime in
late spring or summer. That way I can do the ride to Long Beach in
the day light. I will definitely update this post when I find a class
that works with my schedule. Riding down together would be a bonus,
so let me know if/when any dates look good. In the meantime, keep
riding and get those Triumphs!

I' ve taken the (old) Experienced Rider course twice. I would suggest the Streetmasters course at Willow Springs, very good class. Geared toward street riding on the Horse Thief Mile track.

Thanks for the info, Don. It looks like it would be a fun day. Now I just need to hurry up and get 3000 miles under my belt so I don't have to wait to meet the otherwise 2 yrs experience prereq for enrollment. Let's see, ~25 100-mile rides at 1 ride/wk = roughly 6 months...no, that'll take way too long. I mean, I can fill in some of the gap with commuting, sure, but we're gonna have to really step up the RAT ride frequency here, guys. That, or do one loooong ride. Who's up for the Florida Keys? haha

I'll keep an eye on my April/May schedules as they come out and keep you posted.

If you're local to the IE (which I'm assuming), it may be worth it to give the American Honda Rider Ed. Center in Colton a call. They don't advertise it on the CMSP site so much, but they do offer an ARC. It's just not scheduled until enough interest has been shown, i.e. 6+ people calling looking for a course. When I called to inquire a few weeks ago, they said a few others had already called so a waitlist was started. I had them put my wife and I on it so we'll get a call back when they reach the magic number 6 and scheduling can proceed from there. There's no commitment to be on the wait/call-back list and it could end up saving a drive to Long Beach if the course is scheduled on a day when we're free. Check it out if you want: (909) 430-3000. I took the BRC there and had a good experience so I assume their ARC would be great, as well.

I took the ARC last year in Long Beach & really found it helpful.

This year I hope to try a different rider's course somewhere else, so please keep me in mind if anyone finds something worthwhile they are thinking of signing up for.

I'd like to do a couple of track days this year as well.

Lee, if you are interested in doing the Streetmasters class, I might do that one again.

I'm definitely interested.  Let me know what date you plan to sign up for.   (I won't be available in May because that is when my daughter is graduating from college.)

I would be interested in the Street Masters too, and I think Dana might want to go if he's riding again.  I'm pretty open on the date, let me know.

There is a Streetmasters class on Saturday April 21. It is a good street-oriented cornering class held on the Horse Thief Mile at Willow Springs Raceway. The cost is $390, including lunch, with a 20 % discount for 4 or more. The only requirements are full or 3/4 helmet, good tires, no leaks, good jacket & boots, a motorcycle license, & insurance. It is not a race or track class.   If we get 4 people we can get about $75 off.

I called Colton and added my name to the list.  I'll check with some friends to see if I can raise some more interest.  Colton would definitely be more convenient.

I'd could be interested in the Streetmasters class.  Even with the discount this is pretty pricey.  The online reviews seem good, but they never post any bad ones.  So if you guys recommend this, I would be happy to be #4.  The April 21 date looks good for me.

It is kinda pricey but they have one instructor working with a max of 4 people. The instructor leads a lap around the track then follows one by one and gives feedback to each directly. It is specifically a cornering workshop rather than a general riding class and does help cornering skills improve.

I'll have to pass on the Street Masters, that's too pricey for me. I did sign up for the next ARC at Colton with you guys.   TommyTriple

Anyone else up for the Streetmasters class? With 4 it's just over $ 300, less than Lee Parks class.
