Here is an article I found.

In short , shorter radius tops may create impossible neck angles for Kabrell cutout.
I have never attempted to make a ”floating ” neck like many jazz guitars.  I see no reason for that.   The top has no hole so it can be made thinner.   Some gentle arch will make the top stiffer.   Very little of the fretboard will sitt on top of the soundboard so minimal effect on sound.   I have never used a fretboard patch.

Keep on gluing and sanding.

Hi  Cai,

Hey, I want to say it's real nice that you have a class of students now, but will you please set up a separate group for you students to communicate through?  It would sure be appreciated.  I'm getting all you communications with your students on inla google groups.  But I don't want all your and your students communications coming into my email.

I'm a member of the inla google groups because I want to stay informed of meetings and special events your group has, but not this everyday communication between you and your students, which ought to be private conversations anyway.

Thank you for you understanding and making the necessary changes.
Rjs

Hello Randy,

I am sorry you feel that way. The INLA has always been about freely sharing information to benefit anyone interested in lutherie. Cai has generously offered to share this information with the group. This was discussed during the last meeting. This is not a paid class and is open to all INLA members.  It is not right to hide this information from the group, as a whole, simply because one member does not wish to see the conversation. I like the idea that all these details will be available, in the future, for any new members to use.  You can change your Google Groups subscription to a Digest so that you do not receive more than one email per day. If you need help with this, I can help you.  If the groups, as a whole, vote that this "class" discussion should be moved to a private group, then so be it.

Regards,
Rob McAllister

Hi luthiers

I have been thinking about this.
Once a month I unsubscribe the countless ”useless” mails I get daily or weekly.
I am getting about 50 to 60 mails daily to delete or send to my ”shit can” .

So I do understand your frustration of long unwanted mails.

The INLA luthiers group has lasted longer than most groups at woodcraft.
In its core to share the love to build instruments.  We are a group that has no leader so decisions how and what to do to have a functional group has always been done at the meeting.

So telling me to stop sending long emails will not work.   That has to be done at a meeting and agreed on at that meeting.  Not by me.   Only as a part of the INLA group.   I believe we have been able to stay civil and non personal for most of the time.   We have been evolving so changes have happened.

INLA is a democratic group.   So Randy. Pls attend the meeting and propose the change.   We try to accommodate everyone.   But it is based on your voluntary efforts and attend meetings.  So to tell someone to do something is kind of awkward .

Regards
CAI

Thank you Cai for taking time to reply.

I am disappointed that you cannot see the prudence of the alternative I suggested, which would be very easy to do and is in fact a most common and courteous way of doing things.  I have not been able to attend the meetings for a few years because I moved out of the area, but as a classical guitarist I still did enjoy keeping "some" level of connection with the group.
At this stage I will simply remove myself from the group.

I wish everyone a good and prosperous future.

I hope your class is a great success.

Sincerely,
Randy
