Coupling of Raven with PHITS or MCNP

Dear Raven Developers,

Has there been on-going efforts to couple RAVEN with MCNP? 

My end-goal is to couple RAVEN with PHITS which has a similar INP file format as MCNP and also outputs a text file instead of CSV. I would like to request for references on how I might approach the problem. I have checked the materials within the workshop folder but they are not detailed enough in my view.

Hi Ronald,

I am not aware of a coupling with MCNP ongoing (but it might be an internal effort not yet open-sourced - RAVEN team will be able to answer this). 

In case such effort is not ongoing, there is a coupling with SERPENT (see https://github.com/idaholab/raven/tree/devel/ravenframework/CodeInterfaceClasses/SERPENT) that might help you for the development of the MCNP interface. 

Take a look also at https://github.com/idaholab/raven/wiki/contributing and in Chapter 20 "Advanced Users: How to couple a new code" of the user manual.

Coupling RAVEN with MCNP gets discussed occasionally, but we don't have a coupling in development. Like Andrea said, take a look at the other examples in https://github.com/idaholab/raven/tree/devel/ravenframework/CodeInterfaceClasses
and the user manual.
