In February 2017, the EPFO introduced a single-page claim form subsuming the erstwhile Forms 19, 10C and 31 for complete withdrawal, pension withdrawal benefit and partial withdrawals, respectively. But there are two types of composite form: Aadhaar and non-Aadhaar.

You can submit your claim online using the Aadhaar composite claim form. The online version will be pre-filled with your basic information since you would be able to access it only after logging in to the EPF member portal ( ). You will then have to select the type of withdrawal you wish to make.

According to the statement, subscribers, who have seeded Aadhaar and bank account details, to their Universal Account Number (UAN) have the facility to submit claim forms directly to the EPFO without attestation of the employers by preferring claims in Forms No 19 (UAN), 10C (UAN) & 31(UAN).

If you have submitted Form-11 (New) to your employer and your Aadhaar number and bank account details are available on the UAN Portal and UAN has been activated, then you are eligible to fill the Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar) form. Thereafter, as per the PF withdrawal rules, the form can be submitted to the concerned EPFO office without attestation of the claim form from the employer. You will also be required to attach a cancelled cheque that carries your name. The payment from EPFO will get directly credited to your bank account.

In the first place of the form, the member needs to put a tick mark beside the type of claim -- Final PF settlement, PF partial withdrawal, Pension withdrawal benefit. Then you have to mention your name, UAN, Aadhaar number and date of joining the establishment. If you are making a partial withdrawal, then mention the purpose of partial withdrawal and amount in the sixth place.

The new composite claim form (Aadhar) can be filled and submitted to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office without the attestation of the employer whereas, the new composite claim form (Non-aadhaar) shall be filled and submitted with the attestation of the employer to the respective jurisdictional EPFO office.

The PF Withdrawal Claim Forms that need to be submitted to withdraw the provident fund or pension fund vary based on the age, reason for making the claim, and whether or not the employee is still in service. Earlier, Form 19, Form 31 , and Form 10C were used to make withdrawals. But recently, a composite claim form has replaced the above-mentioned forms. The forms that required the UAN details of the employee have now been replaced with a composite claim form that requires the Aadhaar details of the employee.

If you hold an Aadhaar Card, you will have to submit a Composite Claim Form (Aadhaar) directly to the EPFO office without the attestation of claim from your employer. You will have to attach a cancelled cheque with the form and your entire PF balance amount could be sent to your bank account.

The EPFO has simplified the existing procedures for final settlements on retirement/death, partial withdrawals and pension claims. First, the forms to be filled up for making these claims have been overhauled.

The new form allows you to approach the EPFO directly, by-passing your employer attestation, if your Aadhaar and bank account details are linked to your Universal Account Number (UAN). Chances are that your employer could have already given the bank account details and your Aadhaar to the EPFO to seed it with the UAN, if the details are available with them. If not, you can link these with your UAN at For those who are not tech savvy, there is a non-Aadhaar composite form which requires employer signature and more details such as date of birth, bank account and Aadhaar details. This is to help the seeding/linking process with your UAN. EPFO is also offering Aadhaar seeding through its offices and associated service centres.
