Go right until you see the buck again. Continue right, you will start to sink into the ground and fall into a cave system that you will spend the majority of the game in. The cave system will be hard to describe with words, but I will do my best to take lots of pictures to make it a little easier on you. Pick up your sword, this will be common throughout the game and is needed for a combat related achievement. When you lose your sword in combat it is important to roll into it and pick it up as you roll to unlock:
Before you continue any further, I want to reiterate that using items, such as herbs, to make potions or to rebuild armor is not a good idea. It can leave you short of requirements needed for items later in the game and may force an additional run.
But that won't be for a bit and you will have a ton of opportunities to get this. Go left as far as you can, jump and mash the jump button to pull yourself up the ledge. Continue to the left and the game will prompt you to light a torch. Follow the on-screen button prompts and find light torch to do so. Further to the left will be a wall you must shoulder bash through. Shortly after you will find yourself in a room full of bones. Jumping in the center will cause the bones to collapse and you will fall down with it, this isn't a trap but a necessary step, so go ahead and jump up and down till you fall.
Pick up your sword and torch. To your right is some loot you can pick up with . It is advisable to mash said button everywhere you go in case I missed some loot. Loot is needed to upgrade armor, heal and help NPCs. All of this is needed for a hand full of achievements so again I highly advise you do this everywhere. Pick up your torch (I won't say this again but you always have to pick up the torch after looting) then go left and nearby will be even more loot. Go left until you drop off a large edge, turn back to the right and loot the dead body. Continue to the left now and you will see a rope hanging down, tied to a rock and a blood trail that follows. This is a trap. You need to walk past the rope slightly before immediately rolling with . Getting hit by traps can be an automatic death but this one is not. Still, getting hit causes damage and that means you need to use resources to heal so it is always better to not get hit (derp).
Just past the trap will be a ladder to climb up. Continue left, jump up and pull yourself up the ledge. There is loot before the campfire so make sure you grab it. You will reach your first campfire. These can be a bit fickle to interact with but you do so the same way you pick up loot. You have to be positioned right, your character will light the fire, put out their torch and a list of options will appear. Until you have 8 bones, 8 sticks, and 5 leather it is advisable not to upgrade your armor. If you take damage, you must repair said armor before you can upgrade again. This means being damaged too much can prevent you from ever obtaining max armor. Once you have the required ingredients you should upgrade your armor twice to unlock:
That will be later. For now, select "Sparring Practice" which is the last option available. The first bit is going to teach you the basics but after the game says that the training is complete there is an opportunity to gain another achievement for fighting and beating your partner. There is a neat trick to beating them by getting close enough to throw your dagger, it bounces off the trainer and lands near your feet. You throw the dagger with . You pick it up like any loot. Rinse and repeat until you pop:
After the fight has ended, and you have returned to the caves, make sure your weapon is sheathed (press inward if it isn't sheathed) and go left to see someone leaning against the wall. Open your inventory and hand them herbs (it should say offer) to unlock:
Also, you will get "Old Key" (1/9 Explorer) which is needed for story progression and another achievement. I will use bold for all items needed for the achievement, which is Explorer, so make sure you don't miss them, or you will have a second run on your hands. Ignore the ladder for now and double back to the right, the direction you came from. Just past the ladder you had come up before the campfire will be some more loot. Proceed to the right, climb a small ledge, climb a larger ledge, and you will shortly come to more loot! After that, loot a dead body, and continue going right. You will come to a brightened room with what looks like a glacier. Jump up the next ledge and go right some more so you are back where you first fell into the cave.
Farther to the right will be a door. Open your inventory and use the Old Key you obtained from the injured person. A little further along you will come to a ledge, three ropes and a small drop. You want to drop down and roll to the left immediately. This is one of those instant traps and this one is annoying. You need to wait for the spikes to start to drop so you can immediately run to the right, roll as you hit the third rope and hopefully make it off this death trap before it activates again. If you die, you won't have far to walk, but it is still annoying. There is some loot to your right and you will see an unreachable enemy who runs off before you are done looting. Jump the gap and go right some more.
Time for some combat. The first few enemies tend to not have weapons so they can't block your attacks, but it is important to learn how to fight here. You use your to block. Pushing it up blocks high attacks and pushing it down blocks' low attacks. Different enemies have different attack patterns, but the game will always indicate which way it is going. This guy dies pretty quick if you just mash . Always loot the bodies you kill, especially if you throw a dagger. You may not get loot, but it is worth a shot since most will drop loot. Grab your torch too!
Continue to the right for more loot just before a huge gap you must jump. Jump again to the left and then to the right so you are now at the bottom of this huge drop. Go right and when you see a lift + chain make sure you jump over the lift. You don't want this to fall as it can make getting back up harder if it does. It will fall if you stand on it too long. Continue to the right to find 2 areas to loot before a dead end.
Double back and use the lift to easily jump back up the ledge. Continue to the left until you have to jump across a gap. There will be a trap shortly after, much like the first trap you faced, it shouldn't kill you if it hits you but best to avoid it by rolling (this one shoots an arrow at you). Go left, fight an enemy with a spear and then use the campfire to heal if needed. Don't upgrade your armor unless you have the materials mentioned above. The guy in the video will upgrade now but it is a bad call. To the left of the fire will be 2 spots to loot. Go left as far as you can, jump up and pull yourself up. You won't be able to see yourself doing this but it will take you to another area.
Below the body (mummy?) will be "Meditation Beads" for you to loot (2/9 Explorer). Go back to the right, pass the arrow trap and jump the gap. You should see a ladder below you, in the gap you jumped, so drop down to it and use it. Go left, stand in the lift and use to activate it. Sheath your weapon and go left until you reach a wide open room.
Open your inventory while standing in the middle of the illuminated table and select herbs as an offering. Wait for the enemy to approach, stick his hand out then grab what he is holding with to get the "Light Stone" (3/9 Explorer) and unlock:
Grab your torch and go back to the right until you find a loot spot in front of a giant boulder and another loot spot on the other side of said boulder. Continuing to the right you will pass the lift that fell earlier. Shortly after you will come to your first 2 vs 1. These fights are not fun. This is a spot where you will come back to after beating the game the first time to finish off your 100 kills for a final achievement. More on that later. You want to shoulder bash one of them and try to quickly kill the other. The one without a spear can't block so he should be your first target. It only takes a few hits to bleed and once you start bleeding you will likely die before reaching a campfire. Don't forget to dodge, to block and if you lose your weapon to roll + grab (with ) to get the achievement mentioned earlier. You can throw your dagger at one of them but it is a once a fight weapon as it doesn't bounce off like it did with your sparring partner.
Once they are dead you can continue to the right and open the door with the Old Key in your inventory. This next room will have rocks falling from the ceiling, lots of gaps and jumps that require you to be near the edge to survive. It may take some trial and error to figure out the pattern of the rocks but they always fall the same way. After your second jump, roll immediately to avoid a big rock. After your third jump, the ledge falls out from underneath you which prevents a return to the previous areas. Stop halfway and let a big rockfall. After the fourth gap you are home free.
A ways to the right will be some loot, shortly before an enemy you must kill. The enemy will quickly run away and another appears behind you. Kill the one behind you first and then focus on the returning enemy who first fled. Remember that if they kneel, that means they are dazed and easy to hit. Enemies with weapons are best to block and then attack so they don't do the same to you!
Go right, up three ledges and down a slope. Drop off the bottom of the slope and turn left to find a campfire + some loot just before it. Heal and go right until you are in a big room with another lift + an enemy you can't reach yet. Drop in to the lift and activate it to go down. When it stops, go left for loot, return to the right and board the lift again. Go right this time and you will find more loot after a short walk.
