Our client, a major player in the residential energy market is looking
for a Plastics Design Engineer to join their team in Tyler, TX.
Relocation assistance is provided.

Daily responsibilities include:
 Provide technical guidance on material and process selection for new
components
 Stay apprised of new technologies (materials and processes) in
plastics & composites
 Develop new part designs for NPD’s or VAVE projects
 Review plastic part models and drawings to optimize for function,
strength, cost, and capital (tooling)
 Develop design standards for plastics & composites
 Develop guidelines and standard practices for FEA analysis involving
plastics & composites
 Work with Supplier Quality Engineers and suppliers to complete tasks
related to New Component Introductions
 Monitor trends in the plastics industry especially related to
materials and costs
 Support agency submittals and testing

The qualified candidate will possess:
 Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or Plastics.
 Working Knowledge of plastics material properties, processing
options and limitations, and tool design considerations.
 Plastics design considerations including environment (exposure to
chemicals and the elements), reliability, cost, quality, and
recycling.
 UL recognition process and testing knowledge is required

Job Description
Full-Time Employee∎ Onsite ∎ Biweekly Pay Schedule

Work as a member of the Systems Engineering Team to develop new
residential HVAC products and support Value Added/Value Engineered
projects. Specific responsibilities will include:
 Serve as a resident expert on plastics design for other engineers in
Systems, Design, Components and Controls,
 Design plastic components for NPD’s (New Product Developments) and
support the concept, analysis, and design for those projects
 Lead VAVE projects for existing or new plastic components
 Provide support for plastic component failure analysis and quality/
reliability improvements
 Develop and drive technology roadmaps for plastic components.
 Problem assessment and problem solving skills
 Good verbal and written communication skills
 Works effectively in an open consensus oriented team environment
 Conflict management skills
 Results oriented individual with an emphasis placed on achieving
overall team performance
