I know that quick disconnects restrict water flow, but they are so
much faster to change out. Is there another alternative?

Eric, Quick changing the water lines is always a point of discussion.

The only thing I can think of is to use metal tubing to hard plumb the
water lines from a manifold mounted on each half of the mold. Then
all you have to do is hook a one and a quarter or a one and a half
inch water source to the delivery side and an equally sized return
line and you are changing molds much more quickly. I suspect our
industry will be going this way in the next 10 years or so.

I don't have any names for you, but you might try DME, Hasco or a
supply house that you normally use for mold components. Bob
