Installedpower iso and since did eset is popping up blocking websites that power iso is trying to connect to. Eset blocked like 62 sites..and this only started after poweriso was installed. Any idea why?

My question is why is this type of software attempting to connect to the Internet with the activity you posted? It is basically just software to create a .iso file for the most part. At most, the only outbound connection it would need is to the vendor's server for software updates.

One benign reason is the software is trying to update itself. It should have an option to change/disable auto updating. Disable auto update and if the outbound connections cease, you have resolved the issue.

This post was to express surprise that the same old WinISO code has since, surfaced & been renamed to PowerISO? (remember, winiso wasn't updated since 4 years - something fishy in this, the licensed buyers of winiso left in the lurch so the utility maker can profit more by launching poweriso?)

I always use MagicISO, It supports createing /editing more cd/dvd image format than Poweriso. and you can burn files and folders to cd/dvd on the fly. Its freeware - MagicDisc can also allow you to mount cd/dvd image.

I slipstreamed acrobat 7.0.5 to my acrobat admin install. then i slipstreamed 7.0.7. Then I created an ISO using PowerISO. I told it not to compress it but it still did anyways. Did it twice and both twice it compressed it to 307 mb from 500+ mb.

Anyway, I tried to install from it and it said it couldn't read such and such file. I had to quit the installation. I tried it twice and same problem. Then I tried to copy the files from the mounted ISO to hard drive and it said there were some errors.

The program comes with its own bash wrapper script to set the LD_LIBRARY_PATH and QT_QPA_PLATFORM_PLUGIN_PATH environment variables to the directory where the binary is located (providing you are in that directory). It then unsets the LD_LIBRARY_PATH environment variable upon exiting the program.

libxcb.so.1 and all of the other libraries are provided in the program's own directory. However, ldd shows the shared libraries that the poweriso binary is trying to use are ones from other directories, which may be causing the issue:
