Legend
Says that Demon Banasuran worshipped Lord Brahma and was blessed by him
with never dying wish in the hands of Deva,asura,animals,birds etc (not
by kanni). Goddess Parasakthi took form of Kannigai and fought with
Demon and killed him .After that, she took penance here. The
temple is located in a very serene location and Goddess is seen in the
form of Thavam Posture.
