There are 11 DivyaDesams situated in and out of ThiruNangore.After Rama Killed Ravana, Lord Rama came to this place and under the guidance of Saint DridaNethirar stayed here for four days, made a cow out of Pon(jwell).After four days Rama donated that cow and this temple was constructed using that wealth hence that name Semponsei.
