Appeal to Join Phase-III of the Jan Azadi 75 Campaign

25th Nov to 10th Dec, 2021 

Dear saathis,

We join the nation in saluting the farmers’ movement, which has brought the Central Government to its knees, forcing it to retreat on the three Farm Laws, with the Prime Minister assuring a repeal in the Parliament soon. This is indeed a moment of unprecedented victory, on the long path of resistance against the fascist and pro-corporate forces. Everyone, including the Samyukt Kisan Morcha, is well-aware of the diabolical electoral and other designs of this regime, and therefore SKM has clearly put forth all its outstanding demands including actual repeal of the 3 laws, legal guarantee of MSP for all crops, accountability for the 700 deaths / killings of farmers, withdrawal of Electricity Amendment Bill and closure of cases foisted on farmers. 

The current momentum calls for intensification of our movements, seeking ‘azadi’ on various fronts, be it from the anti-labour laws and Codes, NRC-CAA-NPR, the New Education Policy, proposed amendments to Forest Conservation Act, Marine Fisheries Bill, UAPA and other draconian laws, abrogation of Art 370 and many more such regressive legislations / policies, which are attacks on our constitutional rights and guarantees. Through a slew of such anti-people laws, persecution of minorities, especially Muslims, repression on democratic rights activists, privatization of public utilities, financial frauds, soaring fuel prices and destruction of livelihoods of millions of people, the Govt. has clearly failed to guarantee the constitutional rights & well-being of the majority of the citizens of this country. Despite the PM's grandiose at COP-26, the already precarious working class and marginalized sections are bound to suffer further due to climate-crisis, as we are already witnessing.  

It is, therefore, imperative for us as movements and citizens to question the Govt. on all these matters, extend solidarity to each other’s struggles and organize effectively in our areas. The farmers' struggle proves yet again that with the combined spirit of civil disobedience of Gandhi, fiery resistance of Bhagat Singh and visionary constitutionalism of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar, we can resist capitalist and fascist forces, even today. Let us draw inspiration from these and other freedom fighters as well as the martyrs of the Kisan Andolan and carry forward their revolutionary dreams for a truly free India.

The Jan Azadi Campaign initiated by NAPM since 9th August, is yet another effort in this direction. The Campaign has so far been undertaken in two phases, in different parts of the country. Read more at the link here: https://janazadi75napm.wordpress.com/

We would now urge all constituent organizations and co-travellers of the Campaign to join the 3rd Phase of Jan Azadi-75 Campaign,  beginning from 25th Nov until the 10th Dec, 2021.

In addition to raising the above pan-indian issues, and the local issues of your area / state, you may also consider marking some important days during this phase, including:

25th Nov: Pitrusatta se Azadi: International Day for Elimination of Violence Against Women (Beginning of 16 Day Global Campaign) 

26th Nov: Samvidhan Divas: (Fasivad se Azadi) Marking adoption of the Constitution of India by the Constituent Assembly, in 1950 and asserting constitutional rights. This day also marks 1 year of the historic farmers movement.

2nd-3rd Dec: Company Raj se Azadi: Paying tribute to the victims and survivors of the Bhopal Gas Disaster, and questioning corporate loot and crimes across India, since 3 decades. 

6th Dec: Communalism & Hindutva-Raj se Azadi: Marking the criminal demolition of the Babri Masjid, asserting equal citizenship of minorities and remembering Bahasaheb Ambedkar on Mahaparinirvan Divas. 

9th Dec: Corruption se Azadi: Marking International Anti-Corruption Day and demanding transparency on electoral bonds, PM Cares etc.and financial accountability. 

10th Dec: Manav Adhikar Divas: (Daman se Azadi) Marking the International Human Rights Day and upholding the democratic right to dissent and organize as well as human rights for all. Free All Political Prisoners & Repeal UAPA

We urge you to undertake creative local actions in your areas, during this period, including state-level public activities  / consultations, on 26th November and 10th December. जन आज़ादी 75 अभियान के तीसरे चरण में शामिल होने की अपील

प्रिय साथियों,

पूरे देशवासियों के साथ, हम भी किसान आंदोलन को सलाम करते हैं, जिसने केंद्र सरकार को घुटनों पर ला दिया है, और तीन कृषि कानूनों पर पीछे हटने के लिए मजबूर कर दिया है। सतत संघर्ष के बाद, प्रधान मंत्री को आश्वासन देना पड़ा कि संसद में जल्द ही इन कानूनों को वापिस लिया जाएगा। यह वास्तव में फासीवादी और कॉर्पोरेट समर्थक ताकतों के खिलाफ प्रतिरोध के लंबे रास्ते पर अभूतपूर्व जीत का क्षण है। संयुक्त किसान मोर्चा सहित हर कोई इस सरकार के चुनावी व अन्य मंशाओं से अच्छी तरह वाकिफ है, और इसलिए SKM ने अपनी सभी बकाया मांगों को स्पष्ट रूप से रखा है; जिसमें 3 कानूनों को संसद में निरस्त करना, सभी फसलों के लिए न्यूनतम समर्थन मूल्य (एम.एस.पी) की कानूनी गारंटी, किसानों की 700 मौतों/हत्याओं की जवाबदेही, बिजली संशोधन विधेयक को वापस लेना और किसानों पर थोपे गए मामलों को ख़ारिज करना, शामिल है।

वर्तमान स्थिति विभिन्न मोर्चों पर ‘आज़ादी’ की मांग करते हमारे आंदोलनों को तेज़ करने का आह्वान करती है, चाहे वह श्रम विरोधी कानूनों और संहिताओं से सम्बंधित हो, एन.आर.सी-सी.ए.ए-एन.पी.आर, नई शिक्षा नीति, वन संरक्षण अधिनियम में प्रस्तावित संशोधन, तटीय मत्स्य विधेयक, UAPA और अन्य दमनकारी कानून, धारा 370 का असंवैधानिक खात्मा, और ऐसे ही कई प्रतिगामी कानून/ नीतियां, जो हमारे संवैधानिक अधिकारों और गारंटियों पर हमले हैं। इस तरह के जनविरोधी कानूनों, अल्पसंख्यकों, विशेष रूप से मुसलमानों के उत्पीड़न, जनवादी कार्यकर्ताओं का दमन, सार्वजनिक संस्थानों का निजीकरण, वित्तीय धोखाधड़ी, ईंधन की बढ़ती कीमतों और लाखों लोगों की आजीविका के विनाश के माध्यम से, सरकार इस देश के अधिकांश नागरिकों के संवैधानिक अधिकारों और कल्याण को सुनिश्चित करने में स्पष्ट रूप से विफल रही है। सीओपी-26 में प्रधान मंत्री के ‘भव्य प्रदर्शन’ के बावजूद, पहले से ही जटिल परिस्थितियों में जी रहे मजदूर और हाशिए के वर्गों को जलवायु-संकट के कारण और अधिक नुकसान उठाना पड़ रहा है, जिसकी आंच हम देख ही रहे हैं।

इसलिए, हमारे लिए आंदोलनों और नागरिकों के रूप में सरकार से सवाल करना, इन सभी मुद्दों पर एक-दूसरे के संघर्षों के प्रति एकजुटता बढ़ाना और अपने क्षेत्रों में प्रभावी ढंग से संगठित होना अनिवार्य है। किसानों का संघर्ष एक बार फिर साबित करता है कि गांधी की सविनय अवज्ञा, भगत सिंह के प्रतिरोध और डॉ. बाबासाहेब अम्बेडकर के दूरदर्शी संविधानवाद के की संयुक्त बाल के साथ, हम आज भी पूंजीवादी और फासीवादी ताकतों का विरोध कर सकते हैं। आइए, हम इनके साथ अन्य स्वतंत्रता सेनानियों व किसान आंदोलन के शहीदों से प्रेरणा लें और वास्तव में सम्पूर्ण आज़ादी के लिए उनके क्रांतिकारियों के सपनों को आगे बढ़ाएं।

एन.ए.पी.एम द्वारा 9 अगस्त से शुरू किया गया जन आज़ादी अभियान इस दिशा में एक और प्रयास है। यह अभियान अब तक देश के विभिन्न हिस्सों में दो चरणों में चलाया जा चुका है। इस लिंक पर और पढ़ें: https://janazadi75napm.wordpress.com/ 

अब हम NAPM के सभी घटक संगठनों और अभियान के सह-यात्रियों से आग्रह करते हैं  कि वे 25 नवंबर से 10 दिसंबर, 2021 तक जन आज़ादी-75 अभियान के तीसरे चरण में शामिल हों।

उपरोक्त राष्ट्रीय मुद्दों और अपने क्षेत्र / राज्य के स्थानीय मुद्दों को उठाने के अलावा, आप इस चरण के दौरान कुछ महत्वपूर्ण दिनों को चिह्नित करने पर भी विचार कर सकते हैं, जैसे कि:

25 नवंबर: पितृसत्ता से आजादी: महिलाओं के खिलाफ हिंसा के उन्मूलन के लिए अंतर्राष्ट्रीय दिवस (16 दिवसीय वैश्विक अभियान की शुरुआत)

26 नवंबर: संविधान दिवस: फासीवाद से आजादी: 1950 में संविधान सभा द्वारा भारत के संविधान को अपनाने और संवैधानिक अधिकारों पर जोर देने के रूप में चिह्नित करना। यह दिन ऐतिहासिक किसान आंदोलन के 1 वर्ष का भी प्रतीक है।

2-3 दिसंबर: कंपनी राज से आज़ादी: भोपाल गैस आपदा के पीड़ितों और प्रभावितों को याद करना, और 3 दशकों से पूरे भारत में कॉर्पोरेट लूट और अपराधों पर सवाल उठाना।

6 दिसंबर: सांप्रदायिकता और हिंदुत्व-राज से आजादी: बाबरी मस्जिद के आपराधिक विध्वंस को चिह्नित करना, अल्पसंख्यकों की समान नागरिकता का दावा करना और महापरिनिर्वाण दिवस पर बाबासाहेब अम्बेडकर को याद करना।

9 दिसंबर: भ्रष्टाचार से आज़ादी: अंतर्राष्ट्रीय भ्रष्टाचार विरोधी दिवस को चिह्नित करना और इलेक्टोरल बॉन्ड, पीएम केयर्स आदि पर पारदर्शिता और वित्तीय जवाबदेही की मांग करना।

10 दिसंबर: मानव अधिकार दिवस: दमन से आज़ादी: अंतर्राष्ट्रीय मानवाधिकार दिवस को चिह्नित करना और सभी के लिए मानवाधिकारों के साथ-साथ, प्रतिरोध और संगठित करने के लोकतांत्रिक अधिकार को बनाए रखने की मांग करना; सभी राजनीतिक बंदियों को रिहा करो। UAPA खारिज करो!
