Iam trying to edit a report that was designed for an Epson TM-T88IV receipt printer. The font in the report looks like a string of small vertical lines, kind of like a bar code. If I right click on one of these strings of text, and go to "Format Field -> Font", it says that it is "FontA11". Is there a way to allow Crystal to recognize FontA11 so that I can edit the report? Does Crystal use the font store within Windows, or does it have it's own font store somewhere?
The printer itself is installed on the computer, but this doesn't seem to make a difference as far as Crystal recognizing the font. I've tried finding this font on the web, but have not had much luck.
I can change the font from A11 to something readable, but I need to be able to change it back so that the Epson printer will recognize it. Without it being in the Windows fonts folder, there's no way for me to change it back to A11 once I have it edited. I will see if I can track it down.
Crystal uses the fonts that are installed in Windows. If the font is not supposed to show all lines like you say it is, you could always try changing the font to something else so that you can edit the report.
I use a EPSON Printer FX 1180 To report the navision Documents :Bill,Order, Invoices. But i big problem, my fonts are very good with a laser printer but when i use this epson the fonts are very bad. Has anyone have a problem with fonts? What for font has you used. Thank you for your help and sorry for my eenglish Didier
I have that option selected in the windows printer driver settings (9x9). What is need is for the print /font to be bigger. the Print Reduction/increase select is greyed out in the print driver, so I was trying to send in the ESC codes prior to every print to make them Double high and wide.
On some printers, there are native commands to print Japanese, but for a driver project, we need something with broad compatibility. So, I decided to try to get this working on an Epson TM-T20 variant which has no CJK fonts.
I treated the font as a queue in this implementation. During the print-out, new characters are added to the font as necessary, and the font is re-written from the front as space runs out. This is also known as a FIFO cache eviction policy.
Previously, I have tried generating small images from system fonts to send text to the printer. This is quite costly in terms of processing and data transfer, and the printer is unable to format or wrap the text for you.
Also, we simply printed a stream of characters, which is not really how text works. To implement Unicode, we need to be able to join and compose characters, and respect bi-directional text. Unicode text layout is not trivial at all.
your link on the third paragraph is dead, I believe it is now linking to this URL: -03-how-to-print-custom-currency-symbols-on-a-receipt-printer
year-month was added to the second segment of the URL
i use manager server verison,
i use the printer is EPSON 690. i have tried with 2 printer models.
invoice/DO printing from manager is not clear at all. the same printer when used to print from excel , it prints clear.
So it is the problem with the font.
we are using 1+3 paper for our dotmatrix printer. when we print any DO or invoice in manager, font pixels are little scatterd and colour also very week. 1+3 paper copy also very less visible and letter scatterd.
same come to word or excel printing font pixels and color are very good , 1+3 paper all copy are very clear and letters are perfert in all pages
there was always some issues with chrome browser for reasons known and unknown.
if Manager is working fine in firefox or internet explorer, its better to use the same instead of chrome.
that is the only solution at present.
on Internet exporer for printing a single page invoice it take three pages for printing
first page is blank and third page is overriding our printing letter head header
if check the below screen shot
Also tried to add the printer as a windows printer using the advanced printer driver 4 which installs and creates an LPT1 port, but although listed in printers and faxes within windows, the error says no connection. I also tried to add the printer as a serial port COM1 but the same problem within Windows.
If you are using a serial interface to the printer that may be causing some of the delay. It seems to me that the receipt should print as fast as the Z report, so I would make one last look through the receipt properties and make sure that all fonts are set to Epson built-in fonts (maybe I missed one), the thinking here being that the receipt may be using a font that the Z report is not, thus slowing the receipt.
Z Report is like machine gun fire. standard receipts are slow off the mark, but then quite quick. Much improved!! I would say that the till receipts take about 10 seconds to print. They are much happier.
Marc, Youre and absolute genius!! Printer and cash drawer working, but the printing speed is REALLY slow. Is there any way of speeding up the printer, as the cash drawer opens immediately after transaction....but then you have to wait 1 minute for the receipt to print.
Following a firmware update to version 20160921, my Color LaserJet Pro M452dn started to behave in a mysterious way. All text that is in the document is printed in an outline font, not in the font that is present in the document. How can I get the printer back to a normal behavior?
Then, this was followed up by an email that suggested to start the color calibration via the printer's menu and to repeat the calibration process for 3 or 4 times. I have no idea why, but this procedure solved the problem.
Thank you so much for posting this!! I had the same problem, with the firmware update release this Sept (firmware update 20180201 for my Mac) on my Color LaserJet Pro MFP M477fdw. Everything was printing in outlines of the letters. I ran the on device menu color calibration as you did after after running it just once the problem was solved!!!
I have to print deliveryslip with epson dot matrix printer because our financial affairs department wants the delivery slips in 3 copies using continuous form paper. I managed to arranged the data in the correct places to fit the continuous form paper(it is not empty paper). But when I print it does not show the charters properly I can not read the result..
When I change the file manually to docx file, change the font to courrier new and print using same printer everything is ok. The quality of the printout is good. Neverthless we can not do this manualy for every order it will be too complicated for the user and it will take too much time.
I tried to change the default font which was 'freeserif' in PDFGenerator.php to 'courrier new' but I got an error. Report didn't work at all. I am not sure if this changing font will be a solution for my problem.
I think Prestashop must provide an invoice in plain text form in addition to the PDF form. Because Dotmatrix printer may be operated optimally when printing plain text documents. In addition, there are many offices that still require dotmatrix printer.
I have recently purchased Epson printer but when I tried to connect it with my laptop, an unwanted Printer Error 0xe8 occur, can anyone tell me a valid solution to Fix Epson Printer Error 0xe8 which is continuously showing on my system.
I have seen another thread for this asking to increase the size. I feel this request is much needed for the coffee shop industry (which is why I am requesting this feature). Printing drink tickets to put on our cups for orders allows us to ensure we do not mess up drinks. However, the kitchen tickets font is relatively large for this use, and making it smaller so they do not take up the entire cup would be a huge help. For some drinks, the ticket almost is longer than the height of the cup.
@dpackard Couple of things you can do here. I would #1 make sure under your printer options you have the "print compact tickets" checked as this removes extra paper that many people use on an ticket rail to hold the tickets.
The second thing you can look at is with square for restaurants (even the free version) is using Kitchen Names. This feature you can take a long item name and shorten it to something that makes sense in the kitchen. I.E. Grande Skinny Vanilla Latte might word wrap on a ticket but the name Lrg Skn Van LT is half the length (or whatever abbreviations make sense for you. Here is a link to more info, but I have found this can really reduce the amount of paper/ink if you are using an impact printer or just paper for a thermal.
Allowing Receipt Font customizations is a feature on the Hardware Team's radar @dpackard. They are currently exploring Seller interest in this feature being developed. Thank you for taking the time to submit this Feature Request.
