Brave is one of the safest browsers on the market today. It blocks privacy-invasive ads & trackers. It blocks third-party data storage. It protects from browser fingerprinting. It upgrades every webpage possible to secure https connections. And it does all this by default.

Yes, Brave is completely free to use. Simply download the Brave browser for desktop, for Android, or for iOS to get started. You can also use Brave Search free from any browser at search.brave.com, or set it as your default search engine.

Brave is available as a fast, free, secure web browser for your mobile devices. Complete with a built-in ad blocker that prevents tracking, and optimized for mobile data and battery life savings. Get the Brave Browser (mobile) for Android or iOS.

Using a secure browser is critical to protecting your browsing activity from prying eyes. If this info gets exposed, you may be more vulnerable to hackers and malware. In general, two main elements are necessary to browse safely: security and privacy.

Browser privacy considers how a browser uses and stores your data, and who can see that data. Browser privacy encompasses things like ads and trackers, HTTP vs. HTTPS, fingerprinting and more to understand if Big Tech or other apps could see your browsing and search behavior, collect it, and use this data for things like targeted advertising.

Since phasing out Internet Explorer (IE), Edge has become the default Windows browser for PCs. While Edge has a number of security enhancements over IE, it still permits a significant number of third-party trackers. These trackers help advertisers and other Big Tech build a profile of your browsing history.

While Edge does get regular updates and patches, significant privacy concerns remain based on the core of how Edge is built. The browser stores non-anonymized diagnostic data, which allows Microsoft to identify the devices of Edge users.

Like other browsers, Firefox developers release regular updates that include features like phishing and malware protection alongside content tracking that prevents apps like Facebook from seeing your online activity outside of their platform. Overall, Firefox is a reliable browser that attracts many users because of its more pronounced focus on security and privacy.

Additional Information:
Just started using Brave yesterday and as a browser it seems great, if could get the BAT side of it working too that would be ideal. Do see that there are a lot of support threads and that sync has been disabled in most recent release so perhaps this issue is related to that one but just opening ticket here so hopefully it can be resolved as doubt this Win10 machine is the only one impacted.

I am having the same problem, have been using for about 2 days and not seen any ads, brave is not showing up in notification section and I tried reinstalling but it did not change anything, brave is showing up in C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs but still does not show in notifications

I was running 11 for a while now in the dev channel. Brave just works and looks(apart from rounded corners) the same as in 10. I did not notice anything different.
Only thing that is somewhat worth mentioning, under 11 the default apps are changed. You have to go in there manually and assign brave to most file associations etc.

I have done a clean install of windows 11, and have Microsoft Edge, Google Chrome and Brave browsers running. On Windows 10 Brave was much faster than the other two. On Windows 11 it is the slowest of the 3 by quite a way, both with the browser opening, and opening web pages. Chrome is the fastest, followed by Edge and lastly Brave.

To that end, I wanted to give you my OS & system builds in hopes this screen scramble bug could be addressed or even better, to be informed if the Brave team has already addressed this problem in a recent update to the Brave browser so I can continue using your product on Win 11.

You can try to uninstall and reinstall web clipper. Or use a different browser - it is AFAIK working on Firefox, which as a browser with the proper settings is as privacy oriented as Brave. Plus opposite to Brave it is not running on Chrome(ium), developed by Google, privacy nightmare #2 (#1 is Facebook), but on its own browser engine.

I use the Brave Browser and for anyone that isn't familiar, Brave browser is based on the Chromium open-source project, which also serves as the foundation for Google Chrome but Brave prioritizes user privacy and security while providing a fast and efficient browsing experience.

In any case, I keep running into/getting the following popup "Storage operation did not complete. Try closing and re-opening all Notion tabs or windows. Contact support if that doesn't fix the issue." I'm guessing this is a security setting in Brave but can't figure out how to make the change because Brave has such granular controls.

I'll start off by saying that it works using an InPrivate window in Brave and all other browsers, but not a normal Brave browser window. I haven't been able to log into anything Sophos related for several weeks now using a normal Brave Browser tab on Windows. It just redirects to a "">login.sophos.com/.../authorize with the token/long URL with a blank page. Shields are always down and everything allowed for all things Sophos. I've cleared all cache/data and even tried launching Brave with the command line launch switch "--app-mode-oauth-token" as well to refresh the OAuth2 tokens, etc. It has always worked fine before, but not anymore. It is annoying having to have a separate window or browser open JUST for Sophos stuff. Any ideas?

Brave Browser is a powerful, free and open-source Internet browser based on Chromium. As it has become traditional in the browsing world, it is available for many operating systems, including Windows, MacOS, Linux, iOS and Android. Its main distinctive feature over other competing browsers is that it offers numerous privacy-focused options, such as the automatic blocking of intrusive ads on almost every website, or the blocking of trackers and other tracing entities.

Moreover, you can define bookmarks and thus access your favorite sites faster. The common approach is to leave the window as tidy and clean as possible, and sort the bookmarks into different folders that you can later access with just two clicks from the right side menu. However, if you want, you can add some special bookmarks (like that of Reddit or any other site you visit often) right below the address bar. After all, Brave Browser offers endless customization options, so you will be able to give this browser the appearance you always wanted.

As mentioned, one of Brave Browser's key features is the privacy setting. Just to the right of the address bar, you will see a small icon that will show you how many ads the browser is blocking at that moment. When opening a new tab, you will also see a summary of your experience with the browser, including the total number of trackers and ads blocked, as well as the bandwidth you have saved precisely because you blocked those ads. This analysis can be very surprising, since in just a few weeks of using the browser, you can see how many hundreds of megabytes of bandwidth have been saved.

On the other hand, Brave Browser features a virtual wallet in which you can store Brave's own cryptocurrency, the so-called BAT (Basic Attention Token). Among other things, this crypto will let you pay advertising providers to avoid the so-called \"benign advertising\", which the browser occasionally displays in a non-intrusive way. If desired, you can even buy crypto with your credit or debit cards and add it to your Brave wallet. The environment is totally secure, and becomes even more so with each new update.

Download Brave Browser for PC if you are looking for a nice alternative browser. Not only is Brave totally secure, it automatically blocks all intrusive ads and trackers that slow down the user experience and invade privacy. And best of all, thanks to the sync between operating systems and devices, you can continue browsing right from where you left off on your desktop, your Android or your iPad.
