Three sets of models are available in this course: models that can be run with STELLA Architect - NEW!), STELLA v10.0.4 (file extension .STMX), and models which can be run with STELLA v9 (file extension .STM). The latter version will enable users who use version 9 to run the models.

The Quantitative Reasoning (QR) section of the ISEE Test is intended to test the mathematical reasoning abilities of students. However, there is still a fair amount of grade level knowledge that students must master to excel on the Quantitative Reasoning section and many students find this section very difficult. The majority of its questions are word problems. Students taking the Middle and Upper levels are additionally confronted with quantitative comparison questions; these come at the end of the section and comprise a little less than half of the QR questions. Quantitative comparisons are especially daunting at first, but with practice can even become fun.

To solve this problem, a student must know how to solve the quantitative comparison questions as well as be able to reason through how many points each player scored.

The 11 chapter online textbook contains a chapter devoted to teaching physics with modeling and simulation. It uses three Learning Labs developed with STELLA and allows students to interact with them using the free isee Player.

We thought this sounded like a fantastic idea and pledged our support for a chapter of the book that incorporates modeling and simulation to teach physics. Our friend Mark Clemente wrote the chapter and we setup a web page to host the STELLA models and allow easy access to the isee Player to interact with the models.

The panel decided to implement a multi-stage review process for the 11 chapters of the pilot Physics Flexbook. Each chapter underwent a technical review by professionals in the field. The chapters were also peer-reviewed like a technical journal. Today the Physics Flexbook goes online for a two week public review.

Down the road, the Flexbook system will add the ability for teachers and students to comment on the content. The idea is that the chapter itself would be locked, (different than Wikipedia entries), but the authors would be able to periodically update the chapters to correct errors and add new content based on feedback from teacher and student comments.

Large organisations using iSee may have their own specific iSee client or have a version of the client available on their internal software catalog for those installing it on an institution owned device.

To log into iSee you must have either a user account created for you by your host institution, have been sent a valid guest access link by an iSee host or be connected through a link in a Learning Management System such as Blackboard, Moodle or Canvas.

If it is not in this location, then you either need to download and install iSee, or you have a portable version of iSee. The portable version will create a shortcut to the iSee Hub in the directory it was installed in.

If iSee detects that UDP ports are being blocked by a firewall it will automatically go into encapsulation mode so that can be used over TCP ports - although some corporate networks block these ports as well.

If you require unblocking of your corporate network for iSee, have your network team contact us at sup...@iseevc.com and we will provide a list of of required ports, URL's and IP addresses to unblock for your network.

This will most likely be a firewall or anti-virus issue where your firewall or anti-virus software may be blocking ports required for iSee to function. Please refer to the FAQ "How do I connect from behind a firewall?"

If you have Windows setup in S Mode you will not be able to run iSee until you leave S Mode. Windows S Mode explicitly blocks you from installing applications unless they have come from the Microsoft Store.

If your microphone is working in the settings menu but is not working in an iSee session (others cannot hear you) then there could be something wrong with your connection or in session settings - so try the following:
