This is what I wrote about the subject in another post; however, I
want to start a discussion on the same as we all have to write a
report in some point in our higher education. This is one good site to
refer, if you are writing a report as APA/MLA have strict guide
lines.

https://owl.english.purdue.edu/owl/section/2/

There is a inexpensive book called "A Writer's Resources." Excellent
book, easy to read with APA, MLA examples citations, bibliography; you
name it, it has all.

A Writer's Resources
A handbook for Writing and Research

Publisher: McGraw-Hill
Authors: Elaine, Janice & Malanie
ISBN: 0-07-088823-x
Price: ~ 40$

Regarding bibliography - References, don't try to write citations
(reference) on your own. You will make mistakes, eventually - missing
comma, semi-colon here and there, use the following site, instead. Just
choose your format, source ( web-site, book, on-line data base etc)and
fill the form and you are done.

http://citationmachine.net/

Perhaps, you guys know better resources and books. Any information is
appreciated.

This is the first time I've seen a Pissa claiming himself to be a doctor and he is an actual doctor

Good luck Pissa, with your studies!!

Guys,

As far as I know, Pissa never said that, directly. Once, there was a discussion about  the title  "Dr." and professors by someone who shall be remain unnamed. There was a humble comment by Pissa and the first clue came from that. Then finally he came out of his month long hibernation after the  "My baby shot me down.." incident, said he is writing his thesis.
I was really happy about him,did my maths and said Pissa is doing his PhD. My intentions was good, but now I don't know whether I did the right thing. He is a guy who like to lay low, so we should respect his privacy ( he..he.., look, who is talking).

Oh, Siribiris, if you didn't bring this up we'll never know this. Thanks for bringing it up.

Here actually I didn't mean that our Pissa  claimed that, I was just making fun of the fact that usually insanes in the asylums they call themselves the doctors.

@Thameera

I hope you wouldn't mind my pointing out a mistake you have made here
with the conditional sentence. As you are obviously referring to
something that happened in the past, it should read "If you hadn't
brought this up, we would never have known it."

There are three main types of conditionals (some add another called
"the zero conditional") and I have explained them at length in my post
"If You Went to the Moon… - "if" සහිත වැකි ගැන
(http://ingirisi.blogspot.com/2010/02/if-you-went-to-moon-if.html)". I
know it is a long and probably rather boring article, but it would
help you get to know the correct usage of the conditionals and avoid a
lot of misunderstandings.

Oops yes! Thanks for pointing out sujeewa! One has to know his conditionals. Got to refer to your post.

Btw, the aim of this group is to improve our language, so if somebody points out a mistake, they should always be welcome.
The mistakes we make here are the mistakes we make in our day-to-day work, and this perhaps is the only place someone will show you the correct way.

If I had seen that blog post earlier, it would have saved me from a lot of trouble.
If you read the Ingirisi blog regularly, you will not make stupid mistakes.

I'm doing that right now, am I not?

Also, if you guys asked some interesting questions after reading the
blogposts, I would feel more encouraged to write.
