Thanks to the blog post at

I came to know that Wikipedia has introduced a new feature called Book
Creator
(http://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?
title=Special:Book&bookcmd=book_creator).

When activated, it allows you to make your own book by adding your
desired Wikipedia pages to it.The option to add to your book will
appear at the top of each page, and even Wikipedia links will show the
option to add when you hover the cursor over it for some time.

Moreover, some main pages on a subject, e.g. the page on the English
Language, offer a ready-made book on the subject. And the best thing
is that you can add or remove pages as you want even with those ready-
made books.

Once the book is ready, a PDF version of it can be downloaded free of
charge. (For Mobireader fans, PDF documents can be converted into
Mobipocket e-books with the "Import" feature of the Mobireader
application.)

I had my first book made about, of course, the English language. In
addition to the pages that were already there in the standard book
offered on the main page about English, I got pages on regional
varieties, historical vowel and consonant changes etc. included in it.
They could be arranged in any order I wanted and categorized into
chapters too. (You can even create your own chapters, but I didn't
need it in this case as the ones that were already there sufficed.)

The PDF version was ready for download in minutes. Its quality is OK
though the pages don't look quite as nice as they do on the Website.
Then I had it imported into Mobireader but, unfortunately, the result
was not very attractive. The charts hadn't been converted so well on
the one hand, and, on the other, the layout looks rather ugly.
However, as I said earlier, I am not unhappy with the PDF e-book.

Hi Sujeewa,

Is there anyway, you could share your book with us; if you don't mind.

I could see no way to upload a file here, so I got the document
uploaded to "Files" instead. I think you'll be able to download it
from there. By the way, I have seen files uploaded by some of you in
discussions. How do you do that?

Hey Siribiris,

Where on earth are you? Could you get the file? As the article on Sri
Lankan English that appears in it looks rather messy, I have since
tried to put its contents in a decent order and made some minor
revisions in it too. (In fact, I knew most of these articles even
before this book was made, but hadn't really thought of editing any of
them.)

Sujeewa,

It seems, there is no provision to attach a file if you reply using Google group. If I remember correctly, I used Gmail to attach the file, as we are getting a notification when there is new post on the group. That "files" thing on the group doesn't work as I don't see any files there.

There's a link called Files in the group homepage. You can download the file from there. (http://groups.google.com/group/ingirisi)

As Thameera has said, it's on the home page, listed under "Files".
