 Borewell Project 2025 DATE: 25 September 2025.

Engineers Without Borders Boulder Colorado USA.

Dear most beloved and benefactor Engineers Without Borders Boulder Colorado USA.

Subject: We Humble Request, Borewell Project Proposal for Dalit and Tribal Communities, Initiative for Borewell Installation, Water Access Improvement Project for Dalit and Tribal Populations Access to Clean Water, Empowering Marginalized Communities Through Borewell Access Enhancing Rural Livelihoods Combating Summer Water Shortage Emergency Summer Water Relief Ensuring Water Security This Summer for Dalit and Tribal Communities through Borewell Installation.

This “Bore-well Project” is intended with a specific purpose to provide clean drinking water to the Dalit and Tribal Communities. I welcome you to become a great Blessing to Quench the Thirst of our People, who are suffering for Drinking Water in my Kakinada district Andhra Pradesh. The thirst for the water is enormous not only in summer season, but all through the year. It will take one whole day to fetch a pail of water in many rural villages and hamlets.

This summer, drought once again afflicts our Andhra Pradesh State. During the summer season, especially the Dalits faces extreme difficulty just to fetch a tiny quantity of water, as there is still the caste system observed; they are not allowed to collect water in neighborhoods where the higher caster families live. Dalit and Tribal Communities do not have access to safe drinking water. The vast majority of Dalit and Tribal Communities depend on the “goodwill” of upper caste community members for access to water from community wells.

They are desperate for a reliable source of pure water. Dalit and Tribal Communities spends most of their time in search of the water. The women and children go on foot very long distances to fetch the drinking water, which is unclean and contaminated. There is a frightening shortage of drinking water that is affecting villages and hamlets.

The children are contracting illness because of the parasitic worms found in contaminated water – once these are in the system, they are hard to get rid of and on top of sickness and Diarrhea, causes Anemia and stunted growth. Sickness and Diarrhea has fatal consequences for the young and old.

Dalit and Tribal Communities often go on foot to an agricultural farm bore-well at the outskirts of the village when the electricity is available. But the power is available for only four or five hours per day. The power cut timing is uncertain and sometimes they have to walk for 1½ hour to the field in the harsh sun, the power would be off. It is a big problem for them. Sometimes, even though they would wait in the field for long hours for the power to come, they would not get the water.

in my Kakinada district Andhra Pradesh comprised of 22 villages and hamlets. We need to drill Bore-wells in all these 22 of the neediest Dalit communities to provide safe drinking water for these people in need so as to create a lasting impact for the generations to come. Installation of each Hand-pump Bore-well would cost around INR 96,903/-, which is equivalent to USD $1137 To install the total 22 Bore-wells would cost around the sum of USD $25,015 United States Dollars.

It will be a kind gesture on your part, to render your assistance generously towards this project. I sincerely believe that you would deem favorably and assume full responsibility in the extent of your possibilities and make an effective and expeditious effort to funding the sum of USD $25,015 United States Dollars for this worthy task.
We look forward to your kind support for the Dalit and Tribal Communities. All of them too Low literacy rates and high dropout rates, especially in rural areas. Many are confined to low-paying, insecure jobs, often in the informal sector. Discrimination in hiring processes persists, even in urban settings. A large proportion of Dalit and Tribal populations are landless laborers or own marginal landholdings. Many migrate to cities for work, where they often end up in low-wage, high-risk jobs. Women from these communities face double marginalization due to both caste/tribe and gender. Government programs and schemes, etc., often suffer from corruption, inefficiency, or lack of monitoring.

We are looking forward to your generous support.
