NASSCOM Gaming Forum and InGDIn are working together to promote the indie ecosystem in India
NASSCOM Gaming Forum will be working with the Indie GameDev India (InGDIn) community for creating a series of initiatives to help provide independent game developers a platform to showcase their work and skills, and expose the world to the innovation and imagination they bring to the fastest growing segment in India’s entertainment industry.

The joint initiatives will begin with the third edition of the NASSCOM Game Developer Conference, scheduled for November 11-12, 2011 in Pune. The annual conference is already becoming a platform of choice for players across the spectrum from all levels of the gaming industry in the country and a key bridge between gaming in India and the global games industry.

Independent Game Developers are a growing community in India and InGDIn was begun with the objective of creating a platform for these independent game developers to come together, share resources and skillsets, and build games. Many independent game developers are passionate people who are working to convert their hobbies of game development into their profession and are doing so without the support of major publishers.

NASSCOM and InGDIn will soon release a series of announcements with the specifics of the join initiatives in the country.
"We are very excited about this whole initiative. Independent Game Developers are a key faction in any gaming industry and InGDIn is working with the objective of helping them become mainstream in India. As NASSCOM’s Gaming Forum, we will be working with them and help them achieve those objectives."

Rajesh Rao CEO, Dhruva Interactive
Chairperson NASSCOM Gaming Forum
The NASSCOM Game Developer Conference is an opportune platform for us to emphasise our existence and to showcase the innovative and imaginative work that we as indies are doing in the domain. At the conference, we are going to do a couple of initiatives to bring together independent game developers at a single platform, provide them networking opportunities and expose their talent to the world.

Started in late 2008 by Kinshuk Sunil and Yadu Rajiv, InGDIn began as an initiative to find like minded indie game developers and create a network of such people skilled in various aspects of game development. It soon evolved into a community of active game developers, who are not only sensitising wannabe game developers, but also creating exposure for developers and studios alike, actively developing games and pushing the bar forward.
