Hey BAIO:

It's happening again. Our friends at Long Now have made a block of comp tickets available to BAIO members. This'll be for next Tuesday (10/6) - James Fallows is talking infrastructure at the SFJAZZ Center. Summary below.

I'll be there. You should be, too. We'll do a little BAIO meetup.

Give a shout if you'd like to attend! First come, first served.

James Fallows will be presenting Civilization’s Infrastructure on Tuesday October 6 02015 at 7:30 pm at the SFJAZZ Center.

Infrastructure decisions—and failures to decide—affect everything about a society for centuries. Everything about today's California life is conditioned by decisions about its freeway network made 60-plus years ago, and by the decision to tear up the Southern California light-rail network in the decades before that.

What we do know is that infrastructure projects are hugely disruptive and expensive in the short term, and neglecting to deal with infrastructure is even more disruptive and expensive in the long term.  What would a healthy civilization do?

...and we're all out! Thanks for playing, folks. Will give a shout if any more tickets come available.

I'll follow up shortly directly with all the people who nabbed a ticket.
