Hello BAIO!

Was passed this amazing listing for an abandoned train station (check out the pictures) in Oakland by BAIO member and all-around awesome person Deirdre O'Shea, and after a bit of wrangling, glad to report that I was able to book it (!).

Deirdre also turns out to be friends with Mike Mohan, who was formerly President and COO of Southern Pacific Railroad (!!), one of the oldest and most storied railway companies around. He's currently a railroad consultant specializing in freight domestically and internationally. He's *also* agreed to lead the tour (!!!).

So - this trip will be May 3, running from 1 PM - 4 PM. In addition to the walkaround, there'll be ample wandering time on the premises. You'll need a car to get to Oakland, but as per usual we'll put everyone in touch with everyone so that they can arrange for carpooling.

To defray the cost of renting the space for those hours, we're (atypically) selling passes on this tour - for $15. You can pick up your tickets here: http://www.eventbrite.com/e/baio-tour-the-abandoned-train-station-tickets-11363948877.

As per usual, spots are limited, and expected to run out fairly quickly, so grab a ticket while you can! See you there!
