THREE MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION AT USM LEVEL

Assalamualaikum and Good Day!

The University will hold the university-level 3MT competition, scheduled for February 25, 2025, in an online format. The 3MT is a research communication competition developed by the University of Queensland. Doctoral students are given three minutes to clearly explain their research projects and findings to an audience that may not be experts in the student’s research field.

In line with this, we invite INFORMM students to participate to select a representative for USM at the national level.

Interested participants are required to submit an online video presentation of their 3MT by November 24, 2024. Please send submissions to nik...@usm.my and cc syahida...@usm.my.

A panel of judges from INFORMM will select the top three participants to be nominated by IPS as university-level candidates. The competition rules and additional information can be found on the official 3MT USM website: https://3mt.usm.my.

The first, second, and third place winners will receive cash prizes and certificates of participation as follows:

1. First prize  : RM1000 & Certificate of participation 
2. Second prize  :   RM750 & Certificate of participation 
3. Third prize  : RM500 & Certificate of participation
