INFORMM INVITES YOU TO JOIN THE 3-MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION ORGANISED BY USM

Dear PhD students,

INFORMM invites you to join the 3-MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION organised by USM. 

The competition is open to all active PhD students and must be in 2nd year of study and above.

The exercise challenges PhD students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance in just three minutes. 3MT develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

If you need any advice on video recording etc, Dr Eugene Ong has kindly offered to guide you wherever possible.

INFORMM will have a selection process for the BEST THREE VIDEOS to be nominated to the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS). The panel of judges will also offer feedback for areas of improvement. 

The deadline for video submission is 30 Sept 2021, 9am.

Home [3mt.usm.my] History The first 3MT was held at The University of Queensland in 2008 with 160 PHD students competing. Enthusiasm for the 3MT concept grew and its widespread implementation by universities has led to the development of an international competition. 3mt.usm.my
