INFORMM INVITES YOU TO JOIN THE 3-MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION ORGANISED BY USM

Dear PhD students,
INFORMM invites you to join the 3-MINUTE THESIS (3MT) COMPETITION organised by USM.
The competition is open to all active PhD students and must be in the 2nd year of study and above.
The exercise challenges PhD students to present a compelling oration on their thesis topic and its significance in just three minutes.
3MT develops academic, presentation, and research communication skills and supports the development of research students’ capacity to effectively explain their research in language appropriate to a non-specialist audience.

INFORMM will have a selection process for the BEST THREE VIDEOS to be nominated to the Institute of Postgraduate Studies (IPS). Our panel of judges will offer feedback for areas of improvement.
Important Dates
Deadline for submission to INFORMM: 21 January 2026, 5 pm.
Review and feedback to participants: 28 January 2026
Revision and final submission to IPS: 10 February 2026
