to information-ontology
Hello everyone,
As visible in the OWL file, denotes is currently defined with the following constraints:
Domain: information content entity
Range: entity
Does the current range definition implicitly treat the entity as equivalent to a Portion of Reality? Or is this a genuine gap in the ontology that needs to be corrected?
PS: according to the theoretical framework outlined in "Towards Foundations for the Information Artifact Ontology" (Smith & Ceusters), the correct range of denotes (and in my opinion, its superproperty is_about) should be a Portion of Reality (POR), not merely an entity.
I also ack that there is a problem with the POR, and how to put it into the BFO.
PS2: I checked the iao-edit.owl file.
LG,
Alican
