The Mobile Learning Week (MLW) 2015: Leveraging technology for girls’ and women’s empowerment - deadline for proposal submissions is Friday 5 December. We would appreciate one last push by yourselves and your partners/networks to submit proposals (workshops, symposium presentations, exhibition). “Learning” is being interpreted rather broadly and also concerns issues of access, threats, economic empowerment, lifelong learning, stereotypes, etc in addition to themes around formal education.

Please also note that the materials and submission forms are available in multiple languages as indicated in the “flyer” below.

With many thanks,

UN Women MLW Team

Deadline Fast Approaching! Proposals due 5 December 2014

This is a unique opportunity for you to engage with a vibrant community and showcase the work you do to promote the education, skills development, lifelong learning and empowerment of women and girls through ICTs and through the development of gender responsive digital content. Please register to attend or submit a proposal for an exhibition, presentation or workshop at the following
http://www.unesco.org/new/en/mlw (French / Spanish). Select funding opportunities will be available.

MLW 2015 will be held at UNESCO Headquarters from:
23-27 February 2015 in Paris, France.

It will feature four sub-events:

Workshops (Monday, 23 Feb.)

Symposium (Tuesday & Wednesday, 24-25 Feb.)

Exhibit at MLW 2015

UNESCO and UN Women are inviting proposals to exhibit at MLW 2015.  As in previous years, the exhibition space will allow companies, individuals and NGOs to showcase work and share information during the Symposium from 24-25 February.  The proposal is due 21 November 2014.

Present at MLW 2015

Event participants are encouraged to submit proposals to present at MLW 2015.  Please click on the appropriate link below.  Proposals are due 21 November 2014.

Workshops will be held on Monday, 23 February.  Each workshop will last approximately 3 hours.  The extended time period will allow presenters opportunities to conduct interactive demonstrations of mobile learning content and, when appropriate, provide detailed information about work in the field.  Workshops should showcase services, tools or interventions that help empower women and girls in education and, if applicable, in other domains.

Symposium presentations will be held on Tuesday and Wednesday, 24-25 February.  Each presentation will last approximately 15 minutes.  The presentations allow participants to showcase work in mobile learning, particularly as it relates to empowering women and girls.  Each presentation should be aligned with one of the sub-themes of MLW 2015: equitable access; gender-sensitive content and pedagogy; literacy; or skills development.
