SHARE- IITR under the aegis of the Yunus Centre & Cognizance 2011
proudly presents Jagrit –The Social Business Leadership Hunt, the
first event of its kind in the country. It is, in other words, the
search for the most socially conscious and aware student of India.
From February 12th until March 12th , ShARE IIT Roorkee in
Collaboration with the Yunus Centre and Cognizance 2011 will hold a
competition for Indian Students, challenging them to formulate ideas
for Social Businesses that would tackle real social problems in India.
The aim of the contest is to hunt for one the most socially conscious
student of India.

How the contest works:
The contest is open to all Indian University students. If you are
interested, please register online before March 5, 2011 on both the
Cognizance website (http://www.cognizance.org.in/2011/registration/
register.php) and on http://www.share-share.org/contest2/ , by
clicking on the link 'Register' on the left. Once registered, you will
have access to Applicant Access. The Applicant Access will allow
candidates to upload and send their first round entries to the Yunus
Center . The contest will be split into 2 Rounds.

Round 1 (Online) :
Feb 12 - Mar 5 , 2011
During the first phase of this event, a Social Business Case Study
based on a real social problem in India with all the facts and
demographics available for the issue is floated . You can download the
Case Study under the tab of the same name. The candidates are required
to come up with a solution to the problem enlisted in the Case Study
in the form of a Social Business Plan in a preset format or Template .
The Presentation Template is provided under the tab of the same name.
Candidates can submit their finished Power Point Presentations by
uploading them in the Applicant Access on the ShARE Contest Website,
the gateway to which will be open once candidates have registered on
http://www.share-share.org/contest2/ , by clicking on the link
'Register' on the left.
All entries recieved during Round 1 will be judged by the Yunus
Center.
The best 10 entries will be called up for the Round-2 of this event to
be held on Day 2 of Cognizance.
Meanwhile a Wild Card Entry round will be organized on Day 1 i.e. of
Cognizance on March 11, 2011 at IIT Roorkee for all the participants
visiting the festival . Registrations for the wild card entry round
will be done on the spot. 3 Candidates will be selected out of the
Wild Card Entry round to join the existing 10 finalists in Round 2.

Round 2 (At IIT Roorkee) :
Day 2, Cognizance March 12, 2011
For the second phase, the 13 total finalists will be required to start
afresh as a new case study will be released them on Day 1 of
Cognizance. All participants will be provided with a few charts,
markers and internet facilities to solve the case and they will have
one full day to use all their entrepreneurial intelligence to come out
with a Social B-Plan to be presented before the judges and the
audience on Day 2.There will be an added advantage for the contestants
as there will be scores for audience polls as well.
The Judges panel will then select the best Business Plan and declare
the winner.

Deadlines
The first thing you need to do is register for the contest. Please
note that you need to register both on the Cognizance Website (http://
www.cognizance.org.in/2011/registration/register.php) and on ShARE
website as well (http://www.share-share.org/contest2/) . All the
proceedings of Round 1 will take place on this site.
Registration will be open from February 12th to March 5th (Midnight,
CET). Note than registration takes only 5mn and does not require you
to submit your presentation right away.
Presentation submission deadline for Round 1 is fixed on March 5,
2011 .

The top 10 finalists will be announced on March 6, and they will be
invited to Cognizance 2011 at IIT Roorkee. The Finalists would need to
report and register their arrival on the Cognizance Help Desk at IIT
Roorkee on Day 1 of Cognizance i.e. March 11, 2011 (Please make sure
that you have registered online beforehand on the Cognizance Website)
and pay a nomial amount of registration fee for their accomodation &
food expenses during their stay. Please note that this registration
also entitles the Candidates to participate in all other events
organized in Cognizance. Also note that the transportation costs to
and from Roorkee will be bourne by the Candidate themselves.
