I saw the workshop production of this earlier this year and it was really good. When you respond, let them know that you heard about it through me.

The project, "Ye're Here, Cuzin!" is in residence at Brooklyn Arts Exchange (BAX), with a development rehearsal period from Sept. 14 to our performance April 17-19. During this period we will shape and complete the script, video materials, music and movement.
There will be a small travel stipend and more compensation if funding allows.
The schedule:
Development rehearsals are roughly 7-10, at BAX, 421 Fifth Ave. at 8th Street in Park Slope
from Sept 14 to Oct. 28: Tuesdays and Thursdays
from Nov 2 to Dec 16: Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays
from Jan 3 to April 14: Tuesdays, Wednesday, Thursdays
Performances April 15-17
We will work to accommodate the schedule of the right performer.
The show:
YE'RE HERE, CUZIN! is a reverse Grapes-of-Wrath road trip, a surrealist series of episodes narrated by a passionately accurate (or possibly delusional) Mrs. Bird, recalling the memories of a nine-year-old boy watching from the back seat as his parents embark on a series of family excursions. As the parents daydream, bicker and complain, a series of conflicts drive them back and forth between California and the Arkansas Ozarks.
The set and surroundings are created with green screen video, and we're devising multiple ways that the characters will interact with the video to tell their disparate sides of the family's story. There is also a great deal of music and movement in the piece.
Here's a 30 second trailer of some work we did earlier: http://yereherecuzin.wordpress.com/
The role and the performer:
We're looking for a great improviser open to working with media and movement, though you need not be a trained dancer or have worked with green screen video before.
Seeking: "Dad:" a funny, often violent California fireman. We have no idea what will set him off or how he will react in even the most benign situations. Though he need not be physically large, his personality takes all the space in the room. The person playing him must have a lot of fire and be very comfortable displaying it.
