Thank you for the reply. Here are the character breakdowns:

These are the 3 main characters:

MAHMOUD, 27, the humble, handsome clerk at the police station.
NABIL, 60, a frail man in dirty clothes with a bruise above his right eye and his hands cuffed behind his back.
OMAR, 50, in his impeccable uniform, with an air of power.

Smaller parts:
KHALID, 30’s, a slightly overweight, darker skinned Libyan with thick curly hair.
CAPTAIN FAWZI, 45, an ex-heavy weight boxing champ.

One line.
QANIT, 28, a strong youth with rimmed glasses.
ADEL, 22, a frail boy with bony limbs.
MUSTAFA, any age, any type.
WALEED, any age, any type.
Three of the above could double as the 2 News Casters and Radio Reporter.

This reading will be in English, presented to the entire grad film faculty.
Synopsis:
My thesis script is a 15 page story about a petty clerk at the beginning of the Libyan revolution, whose job clashes with his personal ethics. The reading is October 28th at 10:30am. I would like one rehearsal, which could easily be at 9am on the 28th, or a few days before, depending on the availability of the cast.
About  me: I have lived in Oman, the UAE and Tunisia, and I have travelled extensively between Egypt and Yemen. In 2008 I was a Fullbright Fellow to Dubai, where I taught screenwriting at the Dubai Men's College. I am quite passionate about the current project and am working with a Libyan producer to make the story authentic.
If there is anyone in your company from Libya, I am very interested in their feedback.
Thank you for helping me!
Sincerely,
Zachary Kerschberg

Subject: Looking for Actors

Message Body:
Dear Director,

I am an NYU graduate film student preparing for a reading of my thesis script, a 15 page story about a petty clerk at the beginning of the Libyan revolution, whose job clashes with his personal ethics. The script will enventually be shot in Arabic, and although I have to present it in English to the faculty, I would prefer to work with Arab actors for the reading. The reading is October 28th at 10:30 am, and I would like one rehearsal to read through a few days before. There are three main characters and six smaller characters, all male except one. Ages range from early twenties to sixty. I am happy to work with both actors and non actors. If you think anyone in your company would be interested, or if you have other recommendations, please email or call me.

Thank you!

Sincerely,
Zach Kerschberg

A LARK ENRICHMENT OPPORTUNITY FOR PLAYWRIGHTS
As part of Lark's aim to develop our new home as an effective and fully-utilized community space, we have invited some affiliated artists (as an experiment!) to propose enrichment activities outside of the formal structure of Lark's regular programs.

THE HAIKU PROJECT - December 3rd (time TBA)
A
creativity workshop for playwrights led by scenic designer Cathy Norgren, and sponsored by Lark-affiliated playwright Pat Lin.
The Haiku project has been one of the most popular workshops at the Kennedy Center's Summer Intensive Program in Playwriting. Created by a designer, and based in visual imagery, the workshop engages writers in exercises inspired by haiku poetry to explore metaphor and irony, discover visual paths that unblock your thinking, jump-start a “stuck” play or begin a new one, negotiate writing difficulties with a scene or a character, or simply investigate a different way to approach your writing and expand your style. The workshop uses strategies that employ conflicting images (like haiku itself) to inspire cohesive stories.

The 90-minute workshop session costs only $75 if you register early (checks must be received by November 1st). After that, the workshop cost increases to $100.

The Northpoint Voices Inside Playwright Residency seeks submissions for its second year.  The residency is a collaborative effort among the Voices Inside Playwriting Program at Northpoint Training Center, a medium security prison in Burgin, Kentucky; the Pioneer Playhouse (Danville, KY), AMZ Creative, LLC (NYC) and Theaterlab (NYC).
The Voices Inside program is an inspirational inmate writing and theater program at Northpoint Training Center that uses theater arts and creative thinking to increase communication skills, build self-esteem and humanize and enrich the lives of those closed off behind bars.  It has received support from the National Endowment for the Arts and the Nathan Cummings Foundation.  You may see a recent WLEX news story about the program (there is a short commercial first).
One playwright will be selected for the 2012 residency.  The playwright will spend eight days in Danville, Kentucky in July 2012 and work with the prisoner-playwrights in developing their work.  The playwright will offer writing workshops, with the guidance of Voices Insides Artistic Director Robby Henson and Playwriting Instructor Liz Orndorff, and critique the inmates’ work.
Previous teaching experience is helpful, but not required.  The first recipient of the residency – Mac Rogers – had never taught a class before Northpoint, and his residency was a complete success.

Subject: hello!

Hi there, hope this email finds you well :)
Leila Buck gave me your email to contact you about possible Arab Americans, Middle Easterners, actors or non actors for a super low budget short film I'm shooting at the end of November.
We unfortunately don't have enough money for union/sag actors but anyone interested in taking part in a powerful and moving short film that will do really great should definitely contact me and of course non professional actors are strongly and highly encouraged as I work with non actors a lot.

Here's the casting and project info, if you know anyone who fits some of these roles, anybody at all, please do let me know as soon as you can. Thanx a million, I can also send you the script if you like as well :)
