Does anyone know if there is documentation for API access to motocheck? Or is the only way to access this public ally through the web portal?

As a first step, please go to the below link to download an application pack for Motochek Access ( to verify Vehicle Information)

The Motochek application pack must be printed, signed and an original, as no photocopies will be accepted. Return to:

From 1 October 2012, administration of applications under s241 of the Land Transport Act 1998, for access to names and addresses of individuals held on the Motor Vehicle Register and currently registered in respect of vehicles, transferred to the NZ Transport Agency.

In regards to API access, NZTA does not provide MVR information via API but uses Common Database Interface (CDI).



Please let me know if you wish to continue with this option by providing the following details for NZTA to consider approval for CDI access:



· Company Name

· Company Address

· Company Registration Number

· Contact details

· Bank Account details

· Forecast transaction rate



Once this has been assessed, we will send our specifications for development.
