Merging duplicate stories

I've noticed a few dupe stories pop up in the last few days, often in the same category. Would be nice if there was a way to either merge or suggest an administrative merge of the stories (and all of their subsequent bits)

Obviously, searching before submitting a new story prevents the issue in the first place, but that doesn't always happen, and it's a shame to waste whatever bits get inadvertently added to the dupe.

I would guess that if infobitt gets big, this feature will come to be considered a necessity.  Searching before posting hasn't always worked for me.  And one circumstance in which it clearly won't work is it breaking news comes out and within a minute two people are creating a bitt, taking ten minutes each, and each unaware of the other's activity until they both save their work.

Yes, this is a needed feature that we don't have yet. Eventually.

I am really not sure what is causing the search problems. I would generally recommend that you refresh the site regularly. That seems to fix a lot of bugs, unfortunately.
