All,

It's Friday night and today and indeed this week we've done pretty well in numbers of bitts and facts.

I wonder if you feel as I do, that the process of summarizing and picking the news creates a completely different new perspective on the news. I feel that I understand what journalists are up to much better, and while I have if anything more respect for the work of individual journalists, I have rather less respect for the system as a whole. It fails to highlight the most important stories.

I know I promised you a plan; I'm still working on it. :-)

Good evening, All:

President Obama signed a $214 million Medicare reform package late Thursday that would overhaul the entitlement program funding.  It has strong backing from both parties.

Meanwhile, Kansas families receiving government assistance will no longer be able to use those funds to visit swimming pools or watch movies thanks to the signing of House Bill 2258.

Finally, the CDC stated that middle school and high school kids use more e-cigarettes  than tobacco.  Unfortunately vaping may be much more harmful than than previously believed.

Great work, everyone!  Also, welcome back, Eugene.  Back to the website we go!
