Sourcing

Hey all,

I want to start a conversation about sourcing for the articles.  A place for the discussion to develop and maybe turn into a reference for new users.  

So a few questions I think the community should address:

Should we give preference to 'reputable' sources?  How would we determine which these are?

Is widely sourcing individual stories a desirable thing?  

In a story that has two or more obviously opposing points of view, how might we source the story to provide the most balanced overview possible?

I think these provide an interesting starting point for further conversation, and of course other issues with regard to sourcing are welcome for discussion here.
