Never the less the number!!! It’s big in every context of Bangladesh where most of us started forgetting the community work.
But ever since the initiative has been taken by Kewkradong Bangladesh in our coastal areas back in 2005, it became a major
event where people from all the ages gather to work for a better tomorrow and a healthy oceanic environment.

It has been possible only by the active participation of students, teachers, professionals, celebrities, artist, photographer,
activists and many more of you. Everyone made the change by their hands. Otherwise it’s a mammoth task to concentrate
on the spirit of a small work (!) like cleaning our coasts with own hands. It is you and every one of us, who has guts to show
the fact, the feeling and the urgency of being active for nature and our environment.

A day at the beach can make a world of difference, though working for a day is nothing in comparison with the week, month,
and year and so on. But why is your presence is so important for the earth? Even for a day? – Coasts get clean by you and
you become an ocean volunteer by sharing your thoughts, experiences, photos, stories with friends in your network.
It’s like a “Snow Ball” effect and you are rolling the ball. More you roll, more it gets bigger! We are planning to get it even
 bigger next year.

ICC 2010 is a success in many ways, mostly by the number of volunteers. It’s maximum number so far. More-over total number
of area converge, number of sites, relationship with local govt, media, and the relationship with peers
became an asset for the Ocean.

We have got number of published news and articles in most of the national dailies and electronic media.
This is maximum by the number again.

Being a volunteer, anyone can start doing this work independently and individually anywhere in Bangladesh,
it’s not necessary that it has to be done in Cox’s Bazar but since Kewkradong Bangladesh is acting as the country
coordinator for ICC, it’s better to share your plans ahead so that your every cleanup data gets its
space in the central database, your volunteers get a certificate for their participation. More-over you can also be in a loop
of a huge national and international network of volunteers

We hope everyone enjoyed the Cleanup in September 2010 which has commemorated the 25thanniversary of the ICC.
Quite a milestone we have accomplished thanks to our extraordinary volunteers for your
dedication and passion for the health of our ocean.

Cheers to a successful Cleanup!
