I just got a phone call from the International "Who's who of
Professionals". They wanted me to send them boucoo bucks (a pressure sell,
deliviered an ultimatum,... this was their first contact with me and I had
to decide today. I felt like telling them they had planned poorly if they
waited this late to contact me when today was their deadline.). I'm just
trying to get some general information on the street about this company
My question to you is, it seems the exposure could be useful for folks
outside your field to be familiar with your existance in the human race,
but do you know of anyone who takes this listing seriously? HOw useful of
a networking tool could it be? It might at best be akin to handing your
business card around town. In my current situation, networking is a
sensitive topic especially since my manangement won't approve my attendance
any conferences.
They put your name & Co. in the back for no fee and list you as a
"non-member", which I figured is good enough for headhunters. For
$300-400they put an autobiographical paragraph, give you "benifits" and
list you as a "member".
This smells of scam to me.

Friends,
A scam it is; essentially you get listed in a collection of those who
were flattered to be asked and prepared to pay to be in the Who's Who of
Something. There are several such volumes, none of much use and [in my
humble opinion] none worth paying good money to be in.
