Using admintool, I added the printer name "local" and used
Printer Port: /dev/term/a
Printer Type: PostScript
File Contents: PostScript (that is really all I want)
What happens when I use the command
lpr -Plocal file.ps
is that the light blinks on the printer suggesting it is processing
data, but nothing ever comes out of the printer. It just continues to
blink, and lpq just says that it is printing the file (and it never
does).
Things to know:
1) This printer is set on the serial line for a baud rate of 38400
That is what the test page for the printer claims.
2) I tried doing an lpadmin -p local -o "stty=38400" with no change
in results
3) This printer worked fine sitting on a SunOS 4.1.3 box (Sparc 10)
4) stty < /dev/term/a reports the following:
speed 9600 baud; evenp hupcl
rows = 24; columns = 80; ypixels = 580; xpixels = 979;
swtch = <undef>;
-brkint -inpck -istrip
crt iexten
Is there something that I need to change on the serial port?
Any help is appreciated and I will summarize.
TIA
