SUMMARY: Stale NFS handle

Hi,

Quick answers, gotta love it. My original post was:

I have dual-bootable SunOS 4.1.3_U1 & Solaris 2.4 system. After
I access my home directory from another machine running SunOS 4.1.3_U1 I
then reboot my dual-booted machine. If I now go back to my other SunOS
machine and try, again, to access my home directory I get a stale NFS
filehandle error. This happens whether I reboot to SunOS or Solaris.
Is there a patch that can be installed that alleviates this? IS the
problem on my machine or the other SunOS machine?

when you reboot, you change the device numbering on the server.
solaris and sunos use different devids, so the file handles are
different. this makes the existing file handle "stale". there
might be a way to fix this, but it would be way ugly
