We have 2 Solaris 2.3 systems with the latest lp jumbo patch 101317-16
installed on both.

Peregrine has a printer connected to it, and MachineA is using this as
a remote printer and produces these messages in /var/lp/logs/lpsched.

06/14 10:01:44: peregrine.pacit.tas.gov.au: retrying.
06/14 10:04:15: peregrine.pacit.tas.gov.au: retrying.
06/14 10:06:38: peregrine.pacit.tas.gov.au: retrying.
06/14 10:11:08: peregrine: retrying.

MachineA has this entry in its /etc/lp/Systems file:
peregrine:x:-:s5:-:n:10:-:-:

and peregrine has a similar entry for MachineA.

I've tried doing 'lpshut' and 'lpsched' on both machines, first
peregrine then MachineA then peregrine but it doesn't seem to have any
effect. And then somedays the messages just won't be there.

What does it all mean? :-) Is there a problem with the network or
setup on the machines?

Marina
